Dude.......just stop reading threads about who is and who is not a "blueblood". All they lead to is cringe posts (like yours) anyway.

That bitterness is going to eat you alive.

quote:

I can assure you that not even Bama fans give a damn about the term. To their credit, I’ve yet to hear one of them brag about being the sole blue blood in the SEC.

They give a damn about the term. They just don't want to hear the shameless cringe-fest that ensues every time the discussion topic is brought up.

I don't either.

Nobody really does care, but y'all slipped up and made it clear you're pissed off that no one is acknowledging you so now you're getting clowned on.

I don’t think any LSU or UGA fan considers themselves a blue blood so I’m not sure what there is to be pissed off about. I think you want them to be pissed off so you can “hold it over our heads” which is very bizarre.

I don't think UGA fans care, because Georgia is an esteemed institution with a rich history of academic success to pair with their athletic accomplishments. They have plenty to be proud of. Your suggestion that Texas fans would feel "ashamed" of recent football struggles betrays your mindset. Your self-worth is tied up in the success of your football team, so yeah, anytime some pundit draws up a click-bait "blue blood" list and LSU isn't on it, it clearly eats y'all up.

OU is better on defense across the board and better at every offensive position other than OL

It’s hilarious that you think this is true. QB, RB, TE, WR and OL all favor Texas. Most defensive units (edge definitely favors Texas) probably favor OU, but not by much.

OU beat Texas’ best team in almost two decades last year

Ahh yes Oklahoma’s Super Bowl after getting embarrassed 49-0 the year prior. Yes Oklahoma was able to squeak out a win after our worst game all year, then proceeded to light those cigars and lose to Kansas and OSU.

I gave Texas OL, and QB possibly. OUs WRs are twice as stacked as Texas, OU has the better RB, maybe Texas has a better TE room but if so not by much. OU has the advantage everywhere on defense including Edge(Ethan downs is an AA this year) OUs DL is far better and back 7 are far better.

OU put in a true freshman last year who worked Sweat over every play, also Ewers ran for his life all game long.

The only advantage whorn has over us is OL and QB. QB because of experience, not talent. OL remains to be seen, but their OL unit is already an established unit so I'll give them the nod.

They have no position advantage anywhere else.

OUs wide receivers

Considering Texas has had the first RB off the board in the last 2 drafts, with Blue and Baxter returning no shot OU’s rooms is better.

Edge most definitely favors Texas. Not really much of a debate. Considering we stole your DL transfer this off season, you may want to rethink that one.

Phil Steel has your WR room ranked 19th, well below Oklahoma.

I think many of their fans greatly underestimate the impact of stepping up in conferences.

But Texas has the world's easiest SEC schedule plus a boring OOC game against Michigan (see other thread about Tennessee vs NC State).

What a revelation, why did it take this long for someone to mention this? Now I'm having second thoughts about going to the SEC, probably should have stayed in the Big 12, gone MWC or something.

Who knew an SEC schedule would be a bit tougher than usual? We were promised a cakewalk to the playoffs every year, but this fine, upstanding random rant poster had the courage to tell the truth.

List is shite. Learn to recognize click bait. It basically says OU returns their mediocre receivers. Nice! A room full of 3 stars!

2024 7-5 team is missing.

We shall see. The only thing I am certain of is lowly Mizzou had a loosing b12 conference record is doing surprisingly well in sec

This happens in every league, champ. All conferences.

And which of those teams from the other leagues won the national championship? Or rather, which of those other teams got boat raced by the SEC winner in the playoffs?

I’m talking about the best team in the country having a tough game on the road in mid October, not Oklahoma looking mediocre against in a midseason game against a middling B12 team before they get beat by 30 in a semifinal.

You understand I’m talking about good teams, right? Not the ones that just happen to get beat by 60 in the finals.

Yep. When I think of intimidating environments… Iowa State, Texas Tech, and Kansas State immediately come to mind right along with Baton Rouge, Auburn, and Knoxville. WOW.

quote:

We heard this same thing this time last year when Texas was getting ready to go into Tuscaloosa. Texas and their fans would be overwhelmed by the SEC atmosphere. Well, apparently they weren't.

Alabama as good at overwhelming the other team with talent, not atmosphere. I don’t think many Bama fans would even argue that it’s a seriously difficult road environment for the majority of a game. It gets load sometimes, sure. But it doesn’t stay that way all day. Texas won because they played better.

quote:

Finally, we hear over and over again about the SEC "beating each other up"... Yet pretty much every year a team...or two...or three... rolls through the conference pretty much unscathed. None of the other teams actually beat them even though they are supposedly "beat up" by the conference.

It’s not the losses I was referencing. It was the close games against less talented teams. Look at any of the NC winners from the SEC for the last decade and you will notice plenty of regular season games decided by 7 points or less before getting a BYE against the B12 winner in the playoffs.

Both have recruited better than most of the SEC. Fans don't play the game.

Just because the cats have permanent residence out behind the woodshed, doesn't mean oklahoma is gonna be your new neighbor. Quite a difference in programs.
