For those that still don't get it. It's not a split-system. You can't just turn off the upstairs condenser and still have AC downstairs like at your house. You would have to disable the AHUs servicing the entire north zone, sabotage the chilled water pipes entering the stadium, or shutdown a portion of the 100k-ton chiller system spread across campus. Someone would notice.

That poster you quote is a fricking idiot. Any locker room that is built to any modern code has its own AHU. Period. Chilled Water or not. If there is a project there and the area has been worked on, then it has to be updated to current ventilation requirements, which are pretty strict for a space like that. If it’s as hot as more than one person has said, then either the unit was turned off or the Chilled Water was valved off.

I managed the retrofit project of all HVAC systems at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville over two years and am currently a year into a similar project at the FedExForum in Memphis. I know a little more about locker rooms than you and your bulletin board buddy.

Let's just set aside the whole AC issue for a moment.

Did Texas really stick the LSU band in the upper deck? Who the frick does that?

Next year LSU should scatter the Texas band in groups of 4 all over the stadium.

That’s bullshite. They have different zones controlled by VAVs. You can control the zones separately.

A locker room area may be constant volume or have VAVs, but it almost always is a self-contained system. It’s a lot easier to balance airflow that way. The guy earlier is acting like one AHU controls an entire side of the stadium, which wouldn’t fly today.

I'm assuming the front end of BMS the locker room AHU is on is capable of trend logging. I'd love the see the set point and RH% data between 2:30pm and 11:30pm that day.

Why is Texas AD even responding

It’s baffling. “Hey, let’s take a one-day rumor and make it into a week-long story in which we look like a-holes!”

Who does PR for these clowns.

Poncho and Lefty:

Nice objective post. People need to read what was said. LSU was ready for it and brought there own fans for precisely the reason you cited. Nobody said the AC was turned off. Ventilation was the issue

Skip Holtz:

Louisiana Tech head coach Skip Holtz weighs in on whether Texas had AC in visitor locker room: “I do not know the answer. I wasn’t the one who talked to anybody in Baton Rouge. I don’t remember it being like a sauna, and I don’t remember it being cool.”

And during the first half, crank the AC to their locker room WAY down, so it's like 40 in there at halftime.

All anyone has ever tried to say is: the room was warm.

The room wasn’t cool.

People have different ways of saying it.

This doesn’t mean your coaching staff or AD was aware. Could be a janitor with too much burnt orange in him. The local radio guy doing interviews in the hallway because the local room was too hot. Maybe no one is lying! Please comprehend that Texas did nothing wrong but the locker room was not cooled.
