The most important question after whether Mond is returning is, whether he will continue to agitate to remove the Sully statue.

That'll be fun to watch that for another offseason if he returns.

This board has been sick of yall since 2012. Same song and dance acting like you're world beaters year round with mediocre results. Most arrogant fanbase in the sport with Mississippi State type results

We have 5 draft eligible starters on offense and 6 draft eligible starters on defense. On offense, that's 4 OL and the QB - all seniors. We are almost certain to get one OL to return, though it hasn't been announced, and all 4 of the other guys, including Mond, are seriously considering. Most likely, we lose 3 of them and get 2 of them back, but we could very possible get 3 of them. If we do, that would be 9 returning starters.

On defense, we have a senior corner and a senior DE (who was hurt the snd half of the year). We have 2 other draft eligible DT, and 2 draft eligible LBers. One of the DTs has already announced he's returning. One of the LBers and the corner and the safety are all likely to return. Best bet is we lose one starting LBer (Buddy Johnson), maybe one starting DT (Brown), and the DE who was hurt the 2nd half of the year (Clemons). On the other hand, we might get ALL those guys back. There is a ton of momentum for them to stay. Lots of chatter.

I'm just going by this website. LINK

I have no idea ow accurate it is and admittedly don't really pay a lot of attention to A&M players, but it lists the following as seniors who are starters:

LT Dan Moore
C Ryan McCollum
RG Jared Hocker
RT Carson Green
QB Kellen Mond

DT Jayden Peevy
DE Michael Clemons
LB Aaron Hansford
LB Buddy Johnson
CB Myles Jones

The following are junior starters:
WR Hezekiah Jones
DE Tyree Johnson
DT Bobby Brown
S Leon O'neal

So 14 draft eligible players listed as starters, and from that you're saying you expect to return all but two of those? (I counted 6 more from the 2-deep fwiw) I guess it's possible, but just seems like wishful thinking based on how kids are declaring these days.

Cool, but the guys they had out were most of their best players.

I dgaf how many stars they had. Some our best players had 3 stars.

You must be seriously worried and obsessed. LSU fans are fricking terrified of what Jimbo will do next year.

Well then let’s talk about accolades they’ve actually earned on the field.

The three offensive opt outs we had all were named to an All-American team this year. This alone should squash your argument that A&M had equal losses.

We were also without our 3rd string RB and a second starter at WR. So yes, that was our 4th and 5th string options at RB.

The defensive opt out at LB was our leading tackler and was selected 1st team All-ACC each of the last two years.

It was a great game. Just be proud of your victory and stop trying to justify it as more than it was.....a significant bowl victory for your program.

Draft reports have Mond being selected by the New Orleans Saints.
That would be just DELICIOUS for life on this board. I'd pay a lot to see this

Why? No one would be surprised that someone from Texas had to come to Louisiana to finally have any success.

The problem is none of those 9 would start anywhere else in the SEC.

What if I told you that LSU offered almost every single one of them?

Even schools like LSU have plans C and D. It’s probably why we always beat you in recruiting.

No, not really. I’m not even sure your 2020 team was any better than your 7-5 team the previous year.

You had a really good chance to utterly embarrass us this year and could have beaten us 48-7 easy but thanks to extremely poor in-game coaching on the offensive side of things, you put up a grand total of 13 offensive points and bailed us out numerous times by making Mond throw it 34 times (11 completions ) just for the sake of balanced play calling instead of just opting to gash us to death on the ground.

This.

Didn't play Clemson so there goes one of the losses, LSU was obviously much worse so there goes another, didnt play UGA so there's the third, they did flip the Auburn game, and got beat by Bama.

It could be argued that if their 2020 team plays their 2019 schedule, perhaps they flip the Auburn game and go 8-4 instead.

Weren't good enough on offense to beat 2019 LSU or Clemson, Georgia basically does the same thing they do, but better, and they weren't beating Alabama.

That's the 5 on offense. I'd be shocked if at least one of them don't return. Most likely, two will return. It's very possible that three will return. If three return, it's 9 returning starters. If only two return, it's 8 returning starters.

DT Jayden Peevy
DE Michael Clemons
LB Aaron Hansford
LB Buddy Johnson
CB Myles Jones

Of the five seniors on defense, Peevy has already announced that he's returning. There is a lot of optimism that Jones and Hansford will return. We're expecting Buddy and Clemons to leave, but even that is not a given.

The following are junior starters:

quote:

WR Hezekiah Jones
DE Tyree Johnson
DT Bobby Brown
S Leon O'neal

Bobby Brown might go, and Leon O'Neal might go, though they are both good bets to return. If we only lose Buddy Johnson and Micheal Clemons, and that is ENTIRELY possible, then that is 9 returning starters on defense. (And Clemons didn't even start the 2nd half of the season because of injury.)

This whole time I thought Bama was the insecure bunch. Thanks for settling it.
