4 team 4 pod systems will allow 16 team conferences to work IMO
But that would suck. Who would really want that? It's like we're trying to create a mini NFL. That's also a vaslty different system than the other conferences. I feel radical change would just be a huge pain for everyone.

The main issue I see is if Auburn moved to the East Bama would have to move to the east as well or either the Bama-Tenn or Bama-Auburn game would disappear. And if Auburn and Bama went to the east then the East division would be ridiculously unbalanced compared to the west
What about if Alabama came East? It isn't the best geografically but who cares about that? That way both rivalries could remain.

A pod of bama, auburn, Tennessee, and vandy would keep those two games

True, but that seems to be a loaded pod. Also, Vanderbilt may as well not even try anymore in that situation.

This Big12 talk is not going to happen at least not in the immediate future. Maybe 5 years from now but not anytime soon. TAMU and MU want no part of the SEC. They want the money without the competition.

I'm fine with A&M coming over...but not Missouri. We don't need 3 Tigers in the same conference.
In fact, the only other team I want in the SEC at all is FSU...
So unless immediate expansion is to bring in Texas A&M and Florida State, then I say leave the conference as is.
Also, explain how 4 team pods will work? We will have to have a damn playoff just to get 2 opponents in the SEC championship game.

Yeah, I agree a 4 pod system wouldn't work. It would be better to go to 20 teams, two 10 team divisions. You play everyone in your division and then the championship game in Dec. We'd have one badass basketball conference.

Texas obviously wants the Big12 to survive, as they are "double dipping" so to speak ... getting conference TV money plus $15 mil per year for the LHN from ESPN. Texas would likely be forced into independence if the Big12 fails, as the Pac12, SEC, and Big10 won't allow the LHN.
Sh*tty comment.....FAIL!!!
Remember the old slight of hand trick? Texas is using that. They want everyone to believe they want the Big 12 to continue for the double dipping and to keep tradition together. But the benefit for them with the LHN and going independent with a ND-like BCS clause blows this out of the water.

How many times do I have to post this, FSU doesn't want any part of the SEC. They were invited and turned it down due to an easier ACC schedule.

Naw... Texas does not want to go independent. It wants the best of both worlds...$$$ from independence and $$$ from the Big12, and that's exactly what they've got right now.
The only thing independence really brings financially is your ability to secure your own TV contract and keep all the money. Well, guess what? They got that, and they're still getting the completely seperate TV money from the Big12.
Texas is sitting pretty right now. They want to keep this going for a while before being forced into independence and losing any conference-affiliated money.
That's why I fully expect Texas to give in and give up the HS games and they will probably also promise that only one Big12 game will be on the LHN, not more than one. Texas will concede and everyone else will go along with it for a while thinking that Texas has "given in" when in reality Texas is sitting back, taking advantage of their situation, and collecting double checks.

LSU
MSU
Auburn
Arkansas
A&M
Mizzou
That's quite a few Ag. Schools together.

Who's to say the SEC actually wants Missouri, they wouldn't bring anything to the conference.
I think Mizzou is a better fit for the Big Ten, but I would have no problem with them in the SEC for the following reasons:
1. A population of 6 million tv viewers, plus 2 major media markets in Kansas City and St Louis. Only Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee have larger populations in the conference.
2. A shared geographic border with Arkansas, Tennessee, and Kentucky. It would be a great rivalry game for Arkansas.
3. A solid football and basketball program, but not so strong that it makes going undefeated nearly impossible (as would be the case with adding aTm plus Oklahoma).
If we add aTm (which is a no brainer) then we have to add someone else (I prefer 14 to 16). All of you who think adding VaTech, FSU, or one of the Carolina schools will be easy need to think again. The ACC is fine. They make about as much money as the SEC and have a much easier path to a BCS game. VaTech dominates that conference and has no reason to want to go to a conference where it will be lucky to make it to Atlanta once a decade.
Mizzou and aTm don't really have a choice. Their conference is imploding and they need to find a home and some security quickly.

Agreed and neither does VaTech. None of the ACC schools are bolting for the SEC and we need to get that out of our heads. They get SEC money plus an easy schedule in the ACC. Why would they leave?

move Auburn and Alabama EAST then they would not have to worry about all the Arkansas Big 12 talk?

For those that have never seen it, here's a nice compilation of all the BCS conferences TV deals...
LINK
annual TV payments:
Pac12: $21mil per school
Big10: $18mil per school
SEC: $17mil per school
ACC: $13mil per school
Big12: $10mil-$20mil per school, but complicated, as it is not equally distributed and Texas/OU/A&M get the most + Texas gets an extra $15 mil from ESPN for the LHN
BigEast: $3mil per school (basketball + football schools)

Yeah, as others said, no way in heck we are getting rid of Auburn-Georgia. Moving Alabama and Auburn together would be the only thing that would make sense, but having 5 of the big 6 in the SEC in one division would be way too unbalanced. Ark and A&M would have to really step it up or LSU would just steamroll every year.
