Talked to someone who said he is hearing "imminent". Things can always change, but looks like it may happen soon. Other team doesnt appear to be Big 12. I am hoping it is Va Tech.

And so it Baggins...

I really doubt there will ever be any consideration of adding FSU, or likely Georgia Tech or Clemson. Adding them doesn't make any sense for trying to get a bigger TV deal.

Drop Auburn, keep Tennessee as a permanent cross-division rival.

It won't happen, but how would Alabama feel about playing in the East if that was needed to keep both rivalries alive?

If it does happen lets start a petition to become the War Eagles.

16 teams is the future. 4 superconferences is where things seem to be headed.

Yeah, that sucks. You may be right, but it sucks.

Hopefully we hold at 14 teams, 16 is almost not like a conference.

VA Tech & Maryland would be 2 schools that I think the SEC would want. They would get the SEC into some bigger markets they are not already in.

If they added two in the West (A&M/Missouri), it would likely be Auburn that gets moved East. In that case, Bama-Tenn will be dropped.

All that said, if I had to guess, we won't see any division switches. I'm not convinced that Missouri is the second addition along with A&M. I think the second addition will come from the East (just don't know what school)

Oh, ISWYDT. The "pretend your biggest rival isn't a real rival" move.

Novel approach.

Drop Auburn

Not an option...we're getting banished to CUSA after the hammer drops.

Clearly that's why aTm is being courted. Dots connected.

Alabama is only a rival to auburn. Haven't you read the rehtoric enough to know that losing the iron bowl really doens't matter much to them.

Any of you guys know about what percentage of Alabama's big boosters consider Tennessee a bigger rival than Auburn?

He's not downplaying the Auburn rivalry, you're just underestimating the Tennessee rivalry.
