I still have yet to see a single aggie admit that they would have jumped on an ESPN network offer. I would like to just hear one of you admit it can you do that?

Yeah, it's damn tough to compete with 5-7.

Byrne and company didn't think a single or dual school network was viable. Their instincts proved correct as we all witnessed. ESPN making an extremely foolish decision was impossible to predict so I'll give them a pass on it.

Expansion and reorg was inevitable.

You wish. Don't know about "forever", but for the last 20 years, Ole Miss' record is 116-117.

You haven't even won half your games. And your conference record is 55-98. OUCH!

What does the trophy for "won over half our games" look like? Can I see it in your Hall of Champions?

I’d actually blame UGA and OU for suing the NCAA to have their control of television contract be deemed unconstitutional. The only way to keep college football a regional sport was to deny a free market of television contract negotiations. Once the market got its hooks into college football, commodifying the product was inevitable.

Y’all would know how, seeing as it’s happened 3 times to you within the last decade.

I wonder if the SEC would have still needed the extra money if they didn't have two schools from the poorest state in the Union?

Lmao an aggie blaming texas. How shocking.
All the fans claimed it was because of the Longhorn Network yet none of them will mention the fact that they also voted for individual tier 3 rights that we took advantage of and they couldn't. If any of the programs that cried about that Network had been approached by ESPN they would have jumped on it faster than an Aggie humping a ewe.

You aren't wrong but Mizzou, ISU, KSU and oSu did not vote for that. Might have been another school on that list too.

A&M always voted lock-step with Texas. Their exit from the Big12 was purely about ego and not with disagreeing about how to run the Big12.

Bitch please. The SEC had been begging us to join for decades. We finally said yes.

Dude you are completely wrong. It was when Dodds attempted to broker a deal for Texass, OU, A&M, and Tech to join the Pac. A&M wanted nothing to do with the Pac. At that point A&M decided to try and make a change and called the SEC.

Really as simple as that. Dodds ego is what got the ball rolling.

Bleacher Report June 2010

quote:

Will DeLoss Dodds and Bill Byrne Screw The State Of Texas?

Furthermore... an interview with A&M president Bowten.
quote:

So, I was in the spring of 2010, in the office of the President of UT Austin. And I asked the others to leave the room so we had some privacy.

Brian Beckcom: Was that Bill Powers? Was Bill Powers –

Dr. R. Bowen Loftin: It was Bill Powers at the time.

Brian Beckcom: He was one of my professors at UT Austin, when I went to law school there.

Dr. R. Bowen Loftin: And he was a great teacher, I'm sure, at that time. But Bill and I, in private, were talking about it. I said, “Bill, I'm hearing rumors that you're in conversation with the PAC about moving Texas A&M in Texas to the PAC” “I can't tell you about that right now, but don't worry. Whatever happens, we'll take care of you.”

It took a great deal of self-control not to react inappropriately to that. A short time later in my own office and in College Station, he said the same thing to me. So, it was really clear that that was going on.

This in Bowten called the SEC. Took control of our own destiny. Really had nothing to do with the LHN.

How am I wrong? Plenty of articles out there proving A&M voted WITH texas on everything in the big12. That included conference networks, 3rd tier rights, revenue sharing, etc.

I dont think you even know what argument you are trying to make.

Of course A&M voted with Texass on just about everything money related. Didn't have anything to do with us joining the SEC.

Do you read your own posts? Exit had nothing to do with ego . Exit had everything to do with NOT WANTING TO JOIN THE PAC which Texass was very eager to do. Texass was negotiating a deal that included A&M going to the they Pac without even telling A&M and without asking if it was something we wanted to do. Can your really not comprehend the monumental turmoil and clusterfrick that was unfolding???

Good god.
