I'm not sure what a deadline has to do with it, but my theory is that Alberts is singularly focused on setting TAMU up for success in an era where schools are paying players directly to play football.
Baseball is pointless in his mind, and it follows that he views spending $80MM on baseball facilities is the height of stupidity as we enter that new era.
I can't say his view is void of reason. But I do like baseball and I'm just going to close my eyes and assume there's enough money at Texas to support both. Basketball may be the red headed step child.

Right, the aggy position that he was secretly pretending to coach the team to a #1 ranking only to purposely tank the final game of the championship game makes much more sense.

Maybe we’ll hear aggy AD come out and say it’s not true then. I doubt it though because it all seems like a pretty reasonable story.

Murph, I’m as middle of the road as you can get. I am totally open minded, and believe that if CDC and Schloss improperly recruited players before the hiring they should both face full consequences.
I’m sincerely looking for the truth in all of this.

If there are direct lies in it, I would absolutely want to know and would be very interested. And would even repost that evidence to other longhorn forums if it were credible.

I’m also wrestling with this piece—definitely less authoritative than the DST—but still seems pretty dialed in that Alberts, himself, is a known liar and according to Nebraska fans is a slimy liar that cannot be trusted to be truthful or show character.
There’s just so much to take in on this. There’s liars from Duke, and ATM, and Texas, and Nebraska. And now Dallas. It’s just a hall of mirrors and no way to know which way is up.

I can’t figure why Ags aren’t more pissed at Alberts. Yes, Schloss is a prick in regards to how he handled the situation, but he didn’t lie in the presser. He just danced around the question and acted like a dbag.
It seems like Schloss would have entertained leaving anyway, but Alberts decided to push him out the door.
I would be very concerned with Trev as my AD.
