the day before signing day....This is shitty and no excuse for it. Roc Taylor's coach said that UT better not even try to set foot on campus again

Oh snap! I hope they aren't interested in any more Oxford players any time soon.

Maybe the new staff has someone better in mind?

Just saw that...it happens every year but doesn't make it less shitty.

Hard to argue with any good faith about a player's commitment to a program once on campus when you yank a long-time commit this late in the process.

Good job Tennessee. Screw yourself from recruiting at a high school that produces a lot of SEC caliber talent.

Why didn't he sign during the early signing period? Shitty move, but could have been avoided. He was clearly entertaining interest from other schools. New coaching staff, and they're responsible for their roster management.

Kinda sucks, but it is what it is.

Probably because of NCAA investigation

Still ongoing. Was he planning on not signing at all?

New staff isn't responsible to anybody committed to the school who hasn't signed a LOI. Why didn't the kid sign? He probably wanted to see who the coach was.

Schools can pull offers before they’re signed.

Kids can keep looking when committed.

Shitty situation but it is what it is.

Exactly. That school will roll out the red carpet for Tennessee the next time it has a low-mid tier player who doesn't have an SEC offer yet.

The NCAA should allow prospects to send in an LOI to an offer from the December date through the normal LOI deadline. Maybe he was shopping a bit but the anger from the coach seems to indicate that it was not likely the case. A kid like Roc Taylor who is scared about his place in a class ought to be able to fax in that letter before the new staff can do anything about it.

Was he not allowed to in December with everyone else?

If he really had so many schools after him i'm sure he wont' have an issue finding one to take him.

Or maybe he asked for another bag of McDonald's nuggets and they told him to pound sand

My guess is he was involved in the McDonald's payment plan and now UT doesn't want anyone involved in it. Word out of Oxford was they were surprised when he first committed to them this fall.
