All these teams/fan bases like Alabama saying they should play a weak schedule to get in the Playoff

You just proved them right, thanks

They played a weak schedule all season, rode that Alabama win to the Playoff, and got exposed as soon as they got there.

What is the solution though?

How do you predict the upturn and downturn of the mid level teams?

Tennessee had the two best perennial teams on their schedule with Georgia and Alabama. That alone sucks. Florida and Oklahoma aren't usually this soft. Arkansas is a mid tier team normally as well and they lost to them. Everyone is always going to get a few soft teams like Vandy/Kentucky/Miss St. How in the frick do you predict freakin soft arse SCAR becoming a demon by the end of the season?

It's just how this year played out in the SEC, do we need to start reorganizing schedules midseason so teams get a better mix? That would be idiotic for a number of reasons.

OOC is a legitimate complaint, but I personally like seeing LSU play a occasional decent team OOC. I wouldn't blame LSU for scheduling worse though. It's not like LSU wouldn't have gotten it's shite kicked in with an easier schedule like the Vols did by that OSU team though. Look what happened in the Bama game and that was equally as demoralizing.

I thought we won the SEC?

Apparently that honor goes to the team we beat twice.

The inequality of this (and next) years' SEC schedules was known at the time the schedules were announced last December. Preaseason rankings reiterated that fact all the way up to the start of the season.

Final standings of SEC schools - one of the softest SEC schedules I’ve ever seen. Georgia (2nd | Loss) - Alabama (4th | Win) - Florida (10th | OT Win) - Arkansas (11th | Loss) - Vanderbilt (12th | Win) - Oklahoma (14th | Win) - Kentucky (15th | Win) - Mississippi State (16th | Win) OOC schedule: Chattanooga, NC State, Kent State, UTEP

Yep. I mentioned this not too long ago. What a gift of a schedule.

Indiana is without a doubt a better fb team than Tennessee.

I don't think Tennessee's was particularly worse than what others got like say the schedule Texas got when the schedule was made. Georgia on the other hand got screwed.

Sorry. I meant regular season. Yes. Georgia won the SEC. This was about Tennessee’s regular season schedule, but Georgia beat them anyway so the same truth applies. They beat a 3 loss Alabama and that’s it. The rest of their schedule outside Georgia was historically weak and Georgia beat them.

Tennessee had no more control of their SEC schedule than any other SEC team did their schedule. Texas really got lucky while Florida got screwed. You as a team mainly only control your non-conference schedule. NC State was ranked when the Vols played them. Tennessee can't help the Wolkpack wound up average.
