So Arnett can't get a full release to be closer to his dying dad because we recruit against Michigan State?

So not only did Tennessee hire a delusional WAC loser, but also an douche. Awesome.

he has been unhappy with his role at UT since about midseason. why should we release him to go to his second choice school when he had the opportunity to choose them in the first place?
your acting like you know the situation inside and out just by hearing arnett's side of the story. friends close to the program have indicated that they believe he has the football blues and wants to go back home and play for his hometown team. dont know if this is true or not, but it seems highly likely considering the season we had.
the fact is, no one on here knows all the facts so you should reserve harsh judgement until all the facts are known.

I USED to think Kiffen was the douche and UT was the victim.

It's funny, isn't it? Kiffin is the douche because he hurt Urban Meyer's feelings and accepted his dream job, but Dooley is doing things the 'right way.'

Then why are you claiming he's been unhappy, that he has the football blues, and etc? Do you know him personally (using your logic).

For someone bitching about people forming an opinion on the information that's out there, you're being a little hypocritical when you call a player a bitch for "whining" to the media when you also don't know all the facts.

We'll probably never know ALL the facts, but I don't think it's a stretch to say your shouldn't bitch about a kid defending himself over his decision.

Big ol'

he is a little bitch for going to the media about this. he should go through the proper appeals process and contact the NCAA, not ESPN.

Look what happened to the kid playing basketball at St. Joes, the NCAA will reinforce whatever the school says. Dooley could release this kid in a second if he had any shred of decency or fortitude.

LOL @ Dooley. What a punk. I don't like Saban at all, but I guarantee you that Saban is generally an okay person, and would allow Arnett to play in the B1G. Dooley will need to hide behind mama on this decision also. Next year will be his last.

i have a friend who is close to the program and he claims that while arnett does have family issues, they are no different than the issues he had coming in as a freshman. he thinks he is unhappy and wants to leave. again, his opinion, but i believe it more than some kentucky fan who merely read his letter to espn. but who knows, the opposing teams fans may have it all right...

Kid should have thought of this stuff before he signed. Dooley had a history of placing conditions on transfers.

So your source "thinks" he's unhappy? As in he can't even say, "Arnett said..".

You do realize that makes your super duper inside source no better than this Kentucky fan reading the letter the kid wrote by his own hand right?

How old is he?

I ask the question about age because, at risk of insulting Arnett, they appear about equally mature.

i know for a fact that arnett dad's had health issues coming into UT. that is one of the reasons it was such a close recruiting battle with them. now, it has become evident to many who follow the program that he became unhappy with his role at UT. so, should we allow him to leave and go to his #2 choice school? if so, this sets a bad precedent for kids to leave after there first year for any reasonable measure if they are "unhappy" with their current status. i think dooley did the right thing, and if the NCAA does not think so, they will grant him a release. all this dooley trashing is unnecessary in my opinion. and i would hold that opinion no matter who the coach/team was.

Are you some sort of medical professional?
Do you understand how quickly a health condition like Arnett's Dad's can change from simply "sick" to "life threatening"?

Yes? No?
