So, couldn't that technically be every college in the entire country? LOL

This will not have a great effect on our program. Dooley did this exact same thing with Bryce Brown and Dooley has recruited just fine. We will continue to recruit just fine and fail on game days with Mr. WAC.

And Douglas as well despite his families constant pissing and moaning to the media. Dooley would not allow release to school with 8-10 hour drive. Held firm and issue faded within 3-4 weeks.

You guys keep bringing up that the health issues were present last year, but isn't it completely feasible to think the guy may have gotten worse? And that when he signed it wasn't bad enough that he thought he could leave home for school?

Saying the guy was sick when he signed seems like kind of a petty rationalization.

Fine. I'm telling you...Dooley has ALREADY lost this.

Let me give you an example:

"JJ kicked a defenseless Marine in the head and is charged with felony battery"

THAT is what the vast majority "know" and is out there. It takes too long to educate that he is charged with a misdemeanor for getting in a fight with an asshat. There is NO WAY for JJ to put the genie back in the bottle.

Dumb move by Dooley. He has lost. Not to you guys that are close to the program and know a lot more than us. But, there is no unringing this bell.

So its a mere coincidence that the increasing health problems coincided with Bagget's release?

Pretty much. Especially considering it's long been UT's thing to talk about how they nationally recruit.

It's obvious that Baggett's resignation played a major role in this, but this is very petty and stupid on Dooley's part.

You folks are like abused wives. We tried to tell you about Kiffen...you defended him (until you almost rioted)

You are not listening now. Dooley has lost this round. This is a dumb move.

Hell, Miles released a dude to go play at BAMA....for gawd's sake!!

Don't consider Dooley "my guy" but I am simply saying that their are 2 sides to every story and you are likely to only hear one as the common fan in this instance.

May be a PR fail, but I am sure any concerned recruits can get a much better clarification that 2 lines on twitter or Crabman's assessment on the Rant....

That said, your screen name and avatar always crack me up

weird tidbit to add to it...

Remember, back in Sept. 2010, Arnett was ready to commit to MSU. Then Mark Dantonio had a heart attack while Arnett sat in his office.

Maybe. The larger issue is whether it's a coincidence or not this isn't like Bryce Brown asking for a transfer solely based on issues with the UT program. The kid presenting, on the surface, a valid reason for wanting to leave and it's going to make your program look like a bunch of shitheels for denying it.

This isn't a kid wrapped up in a recruiting scandal and unhappy with coaches, so you're going to be hard pressed to find people in support of it. And it'll look even worse for you on the recruiting trail.

Bryce is back just hanging out in Knoxville. I think the kid wanted to stay and Daddy did not, so that is why Dooley held firm there.

If the health concerns are legitimate and have gotten far more severe recently, I would be in the opinion to let him go closer to home. If it were only a excuse to gain leverage, I would stick to my policy.

I am not saying THAT.

I like Dooley.

THIS is a douche move. But, a few douche moves does not convict a person of being a douche.

I don't see the problem. He can still go wherever he wants and be working on his degree. So he doesn't play for a year. No biggie. Dooley is doing the right thing and should be commended. Maybe given an extension for watching out for Tenn. Yeah.. an extension.
