I don't get why you would want him on your team if he doesn't want to be there.
It sounds like he's releasing him to somewhere.
He's just not releasing him to any program worth a shite within a 1000 mile radius.

What does that have to do with your inept coach further tarnishing an already nose-diving program?

It's not like Tennessee gets any recruits that anyone wants anyway.

My assumption would be that after multiple conversations (this has been a rumor now for a while since Bagget left), Dooley felt this was less about the health of his father and more about wanting to leave bc he is not happy.
It takes 2 sentences to paint this as a dick move by Dooley. it takes 2 sentences to make Dooley look like a classy dude IF he would have released him.
It takes PARAGRAPHS to explain the policy and the conversations and why Dooley thinks it is disingenuous, etc.
PR is not about what is "correct" and "consistent". It is about what can be told (and RETOLD) in short bursts.
I'm telling you. Dooley has already lost this skirmish.

They can make exceptions for any inhouse rule. Bad publicity.

This will not have a great effect on our program. Dooley did this exact same thing with Bryce Brown and Dooley has recruited just fine. We will continue to recruit just fine and fail on game days with Mr. WAC.

Ummmmmmm Justin Hunter was an LSU commit till kiffin/Dooley got their claws in him.
If randle leaves having hunter means we likely wouldn't miss a beat.
Sigh

I get what you are saying.
All I am saying is that the kid can say whatever the heck he wants and in like most situations, the HC is not going to argue it in the media.
So I am assuming if the kids tells Dooley he hates Da'Rick and is pissed about Bagget so he wants to leave and gets denied, then Dooley should cave just because he tells the media its about his fathers poor health because of bad PR?
(Again, not saying that is the case, but like vf30 said, health issues were present this time lat year and nothing came about until after incidents with Rogers and Bagget was not retained)

Yes, Bryce's father was very ill. That's why both Arthur and Bryce transferred back to K-State.
