defending and being happy to have a rapist on the team is not the same as having a diff. view

Hood has worked out a deal to attend the university (people are still wondering how that happened). Anyone can walk on, it's up to Kiffin at that point to tell him to piss off.
I thought you had to be invited to walk on. I didn't think anyone could just show up and try out. To say that Kiffin has his hands tied on this is insane. Kiffin had to invite him to walk on. shite otherwise you'd have every Billy Bob and Booger Tee trying out for the football team. Something just isn't right about all of this.

Dvl, are you just cherry-picking? Surely there must be alot of posters on there that are deeply disturbed

slovog: Good news. Welcome abord, this guy is good.

toyotaboy: Congrats to the young man, he deserves redemption. I hope he makes the absolute most of this opportunity.

orangeblood: All you need to know is that we have another high 3 star Oline guy coming in the fall.

generaljack: I'm a little surprised. This is one situation where no publicity would be good publicity.

mdbjcc: Much needed depth on the Oline. I hope he rapes the Opposing Dline

I retract my defense of Vol fans previously stated. They are hopeless.

they are probably confused by the first cousin thing. they might think that she was his wife and then believe that you cant rape your wife.

Wow. Now you are making Hood out to be a victim.

It makes me wonder what types of things you did early in life.

That literally was the first page. I continued reading and I would say the posts are 90+% in favor of the move/hoping no publicity comes from it. The rest are people posting "do we really want this?"

No disgust through five pages.

EDIT: There is SOME disgust...at Chris Low for reporting the story on ESPN.

So far, I have never seen anyone refused to try and walk on (thats played football before), they usually just eliminate the Billy Bob's within an hour. You can just write in and ask to be invited.

Try the recruiting forum where this has been discussed for a while now, the majority in there do not want this guy. The thread you are seeing was posted today and most of those guys aren't bothering to read what this kid has done.

Wow. Sickness over there. People wondering if his record will be expunged since he was a minor, therefore "it never happened" and its cool to bring him on with no criticism.

Like in a "can't he just not report us getting a rapist football player type of way"? Oh jeebus...they really are a sad bunch.

I'm thinking we got a new, and surprisingly appropriate, nickname for the Vols.

Superman, when I was 13, the last thing I wanted to do, and even today, is stick a plunger up anyones vag. This kid knew what he was doing and allowed it to continue, despite the fact there was another person down the hallway on the computer. They covered her up with a blanket when the other girl came in to get a password for the computer. They damn well knew they were in the wrong. You are taking phrases that other idiots posters say and are using them to argue against everyone. No, this kid doesn't deserve to be shot in the head or anything like that but he doesn't deserve to live a glamorous lifestyle of a high profile D-I athlete. Yes, what he did when he was 13 should affect him in the future. This is a HUGE RED FLAG and this kid needs to be monitored because what is going to happen when he gets some drinks at him at a party. It's pretty obvious he is a follower and will do what other people say so what is to stop him from getting drunk and doing something in the future? I don't see how you can possibly argue this and actually believe what you are saying.

I'm sorry, but everyone in recruiting knows this about Hood. I am just saying that UT is the school that decided to get him. Shows you how their morals are up there. You think Tommy Tuberville or Gene Chizik would recruit him, hell no, and I am proud of it.

Can't say the same for our last coach.

I know Ole Miss signed a bunch of shady guys in 2005 and 2006, but as far as I know, none of them helped someone sexually assault his own cousin.

I imagine that once Hood's past becomes well known, there will be a huge public outcry over his inclusion on the Tennessee roster.

With that said, everyone deserves a 2nd chance. He was 14 and fell into peer pressure of an 18 year old.

Its his god damn cousin. You act like he was 5 when he did this. People were getting married at 14 a few centuries ago. This seems to imply that they know right from wrong.
