NCAA still has its investigation open but UT has done its due diligence well and isn’t expected to face serious or prolonged fallout. The 2 main assistant coaches likely will get 5 year show cause, they did a retroactive post season ban(were not eligible during ban so net of no ban will be reported and scholarship reduction for 2021 and 2022 seasons). All staffers connected to the level 1 and 2 violations have been removed as employees of the institution. Likely 2 boosters will be disassociated from the program. NCAA will likely uphold the findings and punishment and move on.

The school is unable to release details until the NCAA closes its case as per NCAA bylaws.

The SEC should just replace Tennessee. The shite they pulled with Pruitt (who they only hired because their dumb, fat AD fricked up their coaching search) is so stupid that it's hard to actually believe.

Did they pay Pruitt something?
If they haven't, this hasn't gone away.

fricking cheaters

A Bama fan calling someone else cheaters?

Pruit's filthy arse came from Alabama. Born and raised and taught to cheat at UA.

This. Pruitt is going to drop the lawyer hammer.

I was going to say they gave him a quarter and told him to call someone who cares but I doubt this board has enough folks that would get the reference.

But no, he was terminated with cause and gets nothing. He was going to get a negotiated buyout but he fed that up at the end. So he gets nothing

That will be made public after the NCAA concludes its investigation

He will get paid, unless he is tied directly to it.

If he doesn't draw a show cause from the NCAA investigation, it will be tough to justify.

The search after Kiffin has been a lesson in how not to hire coaches. But be honest, if bad coaching hires were enough to get a team booted none of the SEC member schools would be here. Unless this is a jab at Rutgers Rape boys removal as an option. If that’s the point you are attempting then go fist yourself.

He had responsibility and oversight over both assistants that apparently ran the deal so no, he violated the terms of his contract and was correctly fired with cause.

And I’m a big pay the guy fan but his actions precluded that as an option

It was about impermeable benefits from boosters to recruits being setup by staffers. That’s a pretty big one. If UT had opted to go LSU and die on that hill it would have been messy. Not only for them but most P5 schools that recruit 4-5* guys.

I’m assuming they’ll pay Pruitt now

Came to their senses.

I don't feel sorry for Pruitt but I think he's got a serious case. UT acting ignorant of that is comical.

Unless they can prove he knew, it isn't going to be "at fault." If he did have knowledge and did nothing, he will draw a show cause directly related to that responsibility and supervisory position.

You would assume wrong. Tennessee is not going to give Pruitt a dime.
