So we both have big money boosters. None of this pissing contest amounts to anything, really. Tennessee has plenty of money. So does Arkansas. Meh.

that man has plenty of problems controlling his little NFL team and he might still be paying the loan he got to build his castle (jerryworld).

The truth is, Arkansas could probably gather more money than Tennessee, but History and Tradition can not be bought

Advantage Arkansas.

Arkansas and Tennessee are more like than the average fan wants to admit.

If this was 1998 Arkansas vs Tennessee it would not be close in Tennessee's favor. However, the East and West seem to cycle in toughness therefore it is a wash. Arkansas produced more high school talent to the NFL since 2005 yet Tennessee is slightly closer to Atlanta than Arkansas is to Dallas. Arkansas has had much better recent history but Tennessee has old history. Both schools are finishing massive brand new football complexes this season.

Now both will be looking for a coach at the same time therefore I think it gets a lot more heated than most realize. Throw Auburn in the mix and man this will be fun.

I mean, i'm a pragmatist. any ralistic fan will say look, tennessee shits all over arkansas with tradition.. name brand... recruiting power.. they even have the better / easier side of the conference

however, arkansas has 2 advantages that anyone with half a brain cant' deny

1. we have had a shite load longer to look, talk to and vet coaches than anyone else

2. tennesee has a LOT more debt than arkansas does. fulmer comes off the books this year yeah but you still have to pay dooley and his staff to go. we don't have to pay petrino a penny.

we are finishing a complex and we owe some money for that but that's really it. we are in very good financial shape. what that means, is yet to be seen.

I actually agree with this. Arkansas has recognition now, and in a "what have you done lately" business, that's what matters.

Having said that, Tennessee has outstanding facilities and plenty of money. That doesn't mean we can walk all over Arkansas when it comes to hiring a coach by any means, though, as they are developing as well.

No way we beat Tennessee in a head-to-head battle for a coach, unless that particular coach we're fighting for has Arkansas ties.

Why?

This isn't 1998 Arkansas.

this, util the Vols show that they're willing to pay a coach whatever then meh on Haslam.Arkansas was paying Petrino over 3 million,so they've proven they will pony up.

I've seen you bring this up time and again, using that same quote, but you're fooling yourself if you think Tennessee won't come up with the cash in a watershed hire.

Arkansas paid Bobby Petrino $3.45M a year top 6 highest paid.

We are adding on to the football stadium as soon as the basketball and baseball facilities are finished. Both have been greenlit to go.

We are Forbes and WSJ top 10 most valued football programs.

Our donors are:
Sam & Stewart Walton (Billion)
Johnny Tyson (Billion)
Stephens (Billion) *However, they probably wants games in Little Rock if they break off a junk for a coach*
Jerry Jones (Billion)
JB Hunt (Billion)

Our recent football history is much better than Tennessee proving it can get done with a BCS appearance with lackluster recruiting outside of own state.

Tennessee has money problems which comes directly from their AD. Their fan base rebuttal is the donors have the money. Did you just reference our list of billionaire donors?

We will compete with Tennessee anyway we want. This is about to get fun.
