How is this any different than having to pay a pound of flesh to, in our case, the Longhorn Foundation for the right to even be considered for season tickets?

Yes, that is a real thing here. And it’s been like this for a long time.

“ There is no ticket pre-payment required but fans must be annual Longhorn Foundation donors (minimum of $50 annual gift) to be selected for the opportunity to purchase season tickets. Waitlist accounts will be selected based on Longhorn Foundation loyalty points rank.”

The SEC needs to ban mass ticket purchases that are obviously for resale. Ticketmasrer, stub hub etc. tickets should only be sold by the schools ant face value… and a maximum of four or five.

Hate to tell you this but if Ticketmaster is your school’s primary ticket seller, they are the primary offender of what you’re describing. They hold back hundreds (sometimes thousands) of tickets (likely in conjunction with your school) and list them as “premium” or “verified reseller” at much higher prices. They then likely split the additional revenue with your school.

That’s the minimum to get on the list so you can be completely ignored because your broke arse only gave $50.

Of course you ain’t getting shite for $50. $1000 might get you in the running for top row west side upper end zone corner, you know, touch god seats.

10% talent fee

Freeze has been paying way more than 10% from the norm for quality "talent" for years. No including tip... okay maybe he took a bit of the tip

Inundated with more ads than ever before. Even if you skip commercials

That is for sure!

It’s crazy the amount of commercials.

Some games I saw last year even had commercials on a split screen while the players were playing.

am still under the impression our school said we are using money from the conference payout for the payroll.

I bet you think that the billionaire corporations are laying higher taxes when your government tells you they are raising their taxes and making them pay their “fair share”? It’s pretty simple, the school is gonna pass this cost off to the fans like the billionaires pass it off to the consumer when their taxes are raised. The corporations are not paying higher taxes, they just raising the price of everything so that you will pay it. See how that works now?

That’s not what I’m arguing. I’m saying it was supposed to come out the distribution, and now schools are changing it up and charging the fans. After what Trev said, I think he’s sticking to restructuring our sports and expenses, and using the distribution money for payroll. The donors can handle any upgrades needed. The fans to stick to NIL. We just got the $80M new ballpark for baseball approved. That bill goes to the donors.
