First team ever to go 14-0 and win a National Championship. Dominant team with talent across the board.
Ohio St was the first. Doesn't mean anything against Bama though.

Any list of best teams since 2000 must carry both LSU and Bama 2011. I can't remember any time when two teams were so dominant compared to the rest of the nation, especially come from the same conference and division.
Agreed. Seems weird you have a do over game though

Yep, you're right. I forgot they played that extra game at the beginning of the year.

Quality of schedule doesn't matter when you get shutout and held to 92 total yards in the most important game of the season.
Alabama may not have played Oregon (good team) or West Virginia (not so good team) but it stands to reason Alabama would have dealt both team defeats in much the same way LSU did.

Two of those teams won a national title though I'm not sure 2008 Florida belongs on this list.
2008 UF is possibly the best all around SEC team of the last 20+ years. The team had a great defense and the best offense of any of the listed teams.
Scored 611 points, gave up only 181 on defense. Scored 30 or more points in every conference game and became the only team to ever beat six straight SEC opponents by 28 points or more. And did it all while playing the second hardest schedule in the nation according to the NCAA.

1. Alabama 2011
2. LSU 2011
After this, I'm not really sure.

It is what it is. They may have not been the most deserving team to go, but they were definitely the best team to go.
But FWIW, saying that people will only remember NC winners and not teams who has spectacular seasons is inaccurate, since we all vividly remember Auburn's 2004 season, which had as much controversy as the 2011 NC rematch.

Here is an ESPN article
You've gotta be shitting me! An ESPiN article praising the team they helped get into the game? Say it ain't so?
Having Saban on ABC while LSU is playing UGA pimping for his team to get in? No way!
Amazing how blind you are to anything outside Bama.

08 Florida is undoubtedly the most talented SEC team of the decade but they didn't go unbeaten or they are the clear number one.

No wonder you gumps get along
Strawman again? Wining 13 games doesn't just go away when it's against that schedule derp. Bama LOST at home. Had LSU lost, your silly statement might have some meaning. 13-0 is 13-0. The SEC Championship is an actual game, not votes. Bama doesn't even have an Sec West title from 2011.
Only a gump would try to throw away 13 games for LSU while conveniently just trying to throw 1 game away for Bama

I can agree to this
But I'd imagine LSU 2003 and Bama 2009 would have to be somewhere right after

So the hell what? We lost at home. What difference does it make? Yeah…your schedule was tough but in the end it didn't matter. Perhaps LSU should take a leaf out of Alabama's playbook and play a cream puff schedule? That way, when it blows up in your face, you won't be as butt hurt.

The only thing undoubtedly about that team is that they had the most players arrested on that team.
Very talented team. I think there is a good case for them to be called one of the most talented teams of the decade, but it is arguable.

How'd they do that? By forming the opinion of the general public, right?
Kinda goes along with what I'm saying. Nobody outside of Louisiana (and maybe Auburn and a few Bama haters) is going to care in a few years that LSU won the SEC Championship in 2011.
ESPN made sure of that.

You and the barn fan should DIAF.
You go with UGA twice as well and you use 2005 to Barn's 2012? 0 championships.
LSU has 2 and even if you don't like 2007 LSU, how do you avoid an undefeated SEC Champ in 2011?

Not to the ostrich gump though

The only "ostriching" that's taking place in this thread are the couple of LSU fans who want to believe anyone really cares about their 2011 SEC Championship.
It is literally the most irrelevant SEC Championship in conference history.

Yall underrate how good that 06 UF team was.
Sure, it didn't have the glamour or firepower of the 08 or 96 UF teams.
But that team won games against:
@ #13 Tennessee
vs. #9 LSU
vs. #25 UGA
@ FSU
vs. #8 Arkansas
vs. #1 Ohio State
Only loss was @ #11 Auburn.
