to UF fans. Whenever I listened to a UF fan told me this theory I really laughed at first and then had to ask if he was really serious...and he was.

Here is goes..

About an hour after LSU sealed up the national title in baseball we were riding around in celebration. We stopped somewhere and ran into my cousins boss (who was wearing a UF hat). My cousin instantly begins to make it clear to his boss that we had just captured a national title. I asked if he was a Florida fan and his response was, "No, I'm a Florida alum." He said he was glad that the SEC won the national title in baseball and that he hates Texas..That was all fine.

He then begins to mouth off about football. I admitted that Florida probably had the better team and would be tough to beat. Said that UF should probably win another national title. His response was (sarcastically) "Oh no. LSU is 'unbeatable' at night in Tiger Stadium." I just kind of laughed. I told him to enjoy it though because after this year Tebow was gone. He told me that the backup QB might be even better. Said he was a pro-style QB, so UF would be fine for years to come. That's not the part that got me though. He then continued on to say that without Tebow last year they would have lost the national championship. Not because of his play on offense, but the defense couldn't have done it without Tebow. I started laughing because I thought it was a joke, but he was dead serious. He told me that Tebow was responsible for the play of the UF defense in the national championship because he inspired them to play the way they did.

I was at a loss for words. Not only is Tebow the sole reason that the UF offense is good. He is also the reason for the defense being great. Florida will be untouchable this year.

ETA: He may very well be a poster on this board. He made mention of a UF message board. So I can only assume that he visits message boards, and if that's the case why would he not visit the best one in all of college sports?

If TT wore P&G instead of Blue and org, we would act the same way.
Hes the best college qb ive ever seen play.
Guy is a winner and leader.

He has to be drinking something different then the rest of the country. The dude plays QB, HB, coaches and is responsible for the success of the defense. I heard that this year he is working on anoter new perk. He's going to throw a pass and run under it in time to catch it himself. I'm thinking that's why he came back. It's the only thing he has left to accomplish.

The only time I root against Tim Tebow is when he's playing LSU. He's great for college football. How can you not like the guy, his desire, what he stands for, and his character........not too mention he's a one of the top college players ever.

I would not give the dude credit for the play of the defense.

He's good, but not close to the best I've seen play.

I pull against not Tim Tebow, but Florida almost every week.

I never said in that entire post that he wasn't good.

it will be funny if LSU returns the favor this year and blows them asswipes out in TS, then I would like to see the smart alecks face then after sayin "oh no, LSU is supposed to unbeatable at nite in TS". they really think Tebow can do no wrong.

100% agree, if Tebow was a Tiger we would act no different.

Kid is a player, he may not be best QB i've ever seen, but he's best overall FOOTBALL player I've seen .....

I wouldn't say he's the best all time QB. Probably one of the best, but you can't sit here and say he's better than Tommy Frazier or guys from other era's. He's grouped up there, but not the clear cut best.

What does that have to do with the post??

It depends what you are talking about being "better." If we are talking leadership, passion, being a flat out winner, then yeah it could be him. Do you think he's the best dual threat QB to ever play in college? Do you think he's the best passer? There have been plenty other college QBs that have better tools. But re-read the post, I didn't knock Tebow in any way. I was knocking the fan who gave him credit for the play of the defense.

How do you think Matt Jones from Arkansas would've fared playing in a system with the supporting cast of a Florida?

He did good at Arkansas, but he would have obviously done better being surrounded by the team that UF puts on the field. He would have been better, but not as good as Tebow.

So we can see the time frame as to whom will be judged in the greatest football qb you have seen.

I'm old enough and a big enough sports fan to know of great college athletes that played before my time.

LSU fans talk about Chad Jones the same way (prob b/c of the 2 sport thing) and he hasn't even had a good year yet
