On the other hand...people are not used to seeing LSU score so many points, either.
Personally, I agree with another LSU poster that said he felt like it was due to giving the other teams offenses more possessions due to the fast scores LSU is making. To think that LSU's identity changed that quickly is startling.

Oklahoma better team than Texas and Texas embarrassed you last year.
Probables Ohio state LSU both have talented players on defense and their offenses will score more than three tds vs good teams
Toss up games Wisconsin very similar to UGA so so offensively this year but do have a elite defense.

I don't know.
They're pretty good until the game gets out of hand.
Gave up a TD on the first drive aided by a busted assignment for a 50 yard run.
For the rest of the quarter: they gave up 6 yards total for two 3 and outs, and a 5 play drive that ended with a fourth down stop.
LSU scored a TD on every drive.
The score was 28-7 at end of the first.
The game was so out of hand, we don't know if Aranda was testing out experimental schemes in game situations ( by this I mean schemes LSU has never run, not created by him), or if they were telling the players to do everything to not get hurt(no more injuries) or anything else similar to those.
My point is, the defense has shown up when they absolutely needed to.
