The point being is that y’all lose to teams that aren’t remotely close to being as talented and often in blowout fashion.

Do you believe that ole Miss was remotely as talented as Alabama those two years? how about Oklahoma when they beat you? Clemson? I can show you the recruiting ratings if you would like. the only reason Alabama doesn't get called on it, is because you beat everybody else and typically play for the National Championship, or win the National Championship.

I get it. My point is that everybody gets beat by teams they shouldn't get beat by. Even Alabama. And no, Clemson, Ole Miss, Oklahoma do not have anywhere near the players or coaches that Alabama has. You guys are on another planet. It is hard for coaches to get their teams up, week after week against opponents that are so inferior to them, and Alabama/Saban does a great job of it. but, almost every single year you lose a game to teams with vastly inferior talent. Almost every team in the country does.

I don't see either team blowing the other out. Too much talent on both sides. All Georgia has to do is force Hurts to throw Lol. You have a legitimate defense, kudos to Kirby.

THUGA certainly deserves the top spot.

Nope.

#1 Bama
#2 GA
#3 OSU
#4 LSU? (I don't think so - good luck next year - the consensus last place team in the SEC west beat you handily - any hope you had at that point was over)

He's done a great job. I agree. I don't think a beatdown is in the cards for either team. Alabama definitely has the advantage, mainly in depth. We were very fortunate that we had 4 main Juniors come back for their senior year. (LoCarter, Bellamy, Michel and Chubb) Alabama loses their top Junior talent every year. We MIGHT have a slight advantage with our 4 senior leaders...Alabama has an edge just about everywhere else. there is not a team in the country that can stay on the field with Alabama talent wise. If you play a close game, it is usually because your team is a little disinterested. As good as Saban is it is very hard to get a team up week after week, when they know they are the better team. That is not a criticism against Alabama. That is most definitely admiration.

Are you saying that the gap in talent between the starting 22 for 2016 UGA vs Vandy is the same talent gap between Alabama and Clemson?

If so, you are so full of shite.

Doesn't matter, as long as Bama and Georgia win out they'll be in the playoffs

Considering the SEC championship game, how is that going to happen?

Who said that?
The argument was that "Georgia loses to inferior teams! Ha1 Ha! ha!" by an Alabama fan.
My point was that Alabama and just about every team in the country does the same. but, we had a brand new first year coach and all new coaching staff, so lets not pretend that the playing field and comparisons are even.
Without looking, though, I would be willing to guess that Alabama recruited twice as many 5* than Clemson did the three years leading up to your game. (I honestly don't know. Give me a few and I will check)

I think it was Pollack (I know, he is a Georgia guy) that said Saturday that he fully expected Penn State to beat OSU and they would jump to #1 in first CFP poll with Alabama being 3rd and UGA 2 with TCU being 4. That obviously is all shuffled now but I could see UGA going all the way to 1. Won't matter though being that in order to remain in the top 4, you will eventually have to play each other.

There’s never an excuse for a UGA team to get beat by Vanderbilt.

While you’re checking the 5* differentials, please check on how many vandy players last year had commitable Uga offers. Thanks.

Ok. I checked 2014, 2015 and 2016, since those would be the seniors, juniors and sophomores...the players getting most of the playing time. (If you want, we can check 2017, if you think that is more fair)

Five star players recruited:
2014
Alabama-6
Clemson-0

2015
Alabama6
Clemson-3

2016
Alabama-3
Clemson-1
Total for the three years:
Alabama-15
Clemson-4

Four Star players
2014
Alabama-16
Clemson-10

2015
Alabama-14
Clemson-9

2016
Alabama-14
Clemson-11

Three year total
Alabama-44
Clemson-30

A HUGE difference, like I figured, which plays into starters, depth, etc.

So I have you on record saying Alabama losing to Clemson is the same as Uga losing to Vandy?

And what is the excuse for Alabama to get beat by Ole Miss? Twice?

Nobody knows who has a comittable offer. Anything you read on here is pure speculation.

Sure, if you can find where i said that. But....you can't.
I never said it was excusable for Georgia to lose to Vanderbilt. I said every team loses to teams they should not. Can you show me where it is excusable for Alabama to lose to Ole Miss two years in a row?

Fine I’ll make it easier on you.

How many 4 and 5 stars were on Uga roster last year vs Vandy?

You are one myopic dude. Listen very carefully and I will type very slowly.

It is never excusable for UGA to lose to Vandy. Just as it is never excusable for Alabama to lose to Ole Miss.

THAT is the discussion, so you can stop trying to reframe it.

The original post I took exception to was one saying Georgia will blow a game that we shouldn't as we always do. My point is that Alabama loses to teams they should not lose to, also. Now, can you show me where I am wrong>

I readily admit that Georgia, in the past, has lost to teams we should not lose to.

But you just can't stand to admit that Alabama loses to teams they should not lose to, too. And it happens almost every year....just like Georgia.

Go ahead and show me where I am wrong.
