False but they were knocking on the door and if Petrino could have kept his dick in his pants I think they would have made it. I see a decent rebuilding job ahead for whoever takes over next year but with the right hire Petrino has shown that they can compete.

Ummm LSU > Aubie recently just barely. Auburn = LSU all time. Not to mention Auburn has won a NC title more recently and also got hosed in 2004 while LSU got the luckiest break in CFB history to get one in 2007.

You're dumb. Tenn is 2nd in all time sec followed by LSU.

I agree that LSU is a little ahead of Auburn all time but it isn't by a wide margin. IMO you give UT way to much credit for what happened 30+ years ago. I put a lot more weight behind what has happened in the last few decades so I would rank the top 4 like this.

1. Bama
2. UF
3. LSU
4. Auburn

Are you fricking nuts, one top five and BCS game and a cotton bowl in the last few years does not make an elite program

The last few decades?

Do you know how long a decade is?

We have won a BCS title in the "last few decades".

The existence of this thread shows that your jimmies are rustled.

I completely understood his point, and mine continues to be that does not equate to arriving in CFB. Not even close

I agree with the latter (wouldn't go as far to say "not even close") but still don't think you get what he was saying. By arrived, he was saying that the facilities and amount of money we are willing to pay any coach allows us to be able to lure a top coach, even considering our stark recruiting disadvantage. Could we hire on the level of USC, Texas, OSU, or Bama? No, and we never will because on top of these schools already having those same resources they also have a stupid amount of talent around them and an "aura" of tradition that attracts these coaches (other than Texas, that aura is just a stench of dried semen around the mouths of those arrogant, entitled, cum-guzzling cocksuckers).

Yes I know how long a decade is and I am also aware that UT has a BCS title from the late 90's. I've always liked UT so I'm not trying to start a pissing match but in the last 30 years I give AU a slight edge over UT mainly due to our more recent success and fewer down years in that time frame. All time UT is a solid 2nd to Bama imo with Auburn fighting it out with UGA for 5th.

"Arriving" is an arbitrary phrase when used in that context. He used it and gave color to what he meant by arriving, and I simplified his use of it even more. Just because that isn't your specific definition of arriving doesn't mean he is delusional. Starting another thread out of context to argue it does mean you're either stubborn or insecure. Stop making me defend SunHog, him and I are very different and I don't agree with a lot of his points, especially his analogies and points on finance.

I agree, UT's H2H lead is significant as is also overall winning % gap. It can argued LSU has edged AU, UGA and UF but the difference, from a historical vantage, is still pretty minimal, IMO. I think the question of status of clubs 2 - 6 will be better answered in 2020. But right now I would still have it:
1. UA

2. UT
3a - 3d: LSU, AU, UGA, UF ordering by whatever variables one deems most important.

I do not think that Arky can compete year in and year out with LSU, Bama or Florida/Georgia/Tenn/USCe these last 4 are close to each other they will rotate out or in depending on who got the right recruits that fit their Team the best, not the overall best recruits just the ones that fit properlly.

Just a hunch but talking none-the-less!

Now with one other thing. Nick Saban!

I do not believe Saban will be there at Bama past/after next year. He likes to rebuild a program and make it a winner and consistant contender, like LSU and Bama. I believe he will go to either Tenn or Notre Dame. It will be one of those 2. You say no! I say why not?

Now you talking about making some jackrabbits mad. Just think what would happen if he left Bama for Rocky Top! Why not? He left LSU and went to Bama of all places! Why not leave Bama and go to Tenn and make it a contender again? All 3 rivals would be contenders for years to come and he would retire the greatest of all time.

He went to the NFL (Miami) where it did not work out then back to CFB at Alabama, where it did work out.

UT from a historical stand point edges out LSU but I'm not so sure they will ever get back to where they were. LSU will catch them and will probably never look back. IMHO, they already have. If they were represented in stock, I would have sold UT a long long long time ago and invested in LSU. I'm not saying Tennessee can't still be a top 15 or even 10, but LSU is a top 3 or 4, if not better.

And 2 national titles for a #2 in the SEC? Yeah right! No period in Tenn history compares to the past 10 years for LSU.
