My boss played guard at AU in mid 80's. I asked him if players got in trouble then as much as they do now. His opinion is that when they had athletic dorms, the players kind of "policed" each other when somebody was about to do something REALLY stupid. Kind of a code-red type thing. He thinks that they got by with alot of other stuff like partying, etc, more then. Plus there was no internet then where EVERYBODY knows about it immediately. Just wondering. Anyone else have an opinion on this?

This is what, the 7th running back under his watch that's gotten in trouble and subsequently kicked off under his watch? And that's not even counting Knowshon with the whole DUI/"SAUCED" license plate thing about a year ago.
Tired of this shite. It's time to move on.

Well, I guess Ealey and Thomas did transfer after multiple suspensions but I'd have a hard time believing they wouldn't have gotten the boot eventually. For whatever reason, we continue to live up to the reputation that UGA is a graveyard for elite running back prospects.

If losing all of these players comes back to bite this team (as early as week 2), the blame will deservedly fall on his shoulders. Bleedat.

Don't see how it is Richt's fault for Crow being a thug.

I disagree. Saban might not have needed Crowell, but Crowell needed Saban.
A UA football staffer described it to me like this...
"Have you a seen the dog whisperer? Ceasar will put a bad dog among 10 good dogs, and when the bad dog starts to act up, the others will force him to behave. That's how our football team operates. Some kids come in with bad attitudes, thugs, poor work ethic, etc. The other players on the team will force you to buy in, or else your life will be hell. And of coarse you have Saban watching."
That's more or less what he said. It makes sense. Richts "cool guy/IDGAF" attitude might work when he's recruiting, but it's a huge disservice to the kids when they're enrolled.

Again I'm not blaming the cops I guess I am blaming the higher ups. They look down on athletes and treat them as hard as they can.

, why do you think UGA continues to have (seemingly, at least) more off-field discipline issues than anyone else in conference?
