Hope they prevail against the NCAA and SEC
Would love to see the NCAA go the way of the dinosaur and Sankey to be canned before he can inflict anyone damage to the SEC

You still think this is about LSU.

No, never did but the media has certainly portrayed LSU as the villain
The real villain is the NCAA with their idiotic timing for granting blanket 5th year eligibility over the summer
This should have been resolved prior to the NFL draft so athletes could have all relevant information to make an educated decision regarding their path forward

Happy to see a Longhorn fan with common sense and objective reasoning.

Spot on, thanks for having a well-reasoned opinion. The expert on ESPN just pointed out that every player in the classes from 2017-2021 and every player from 2023-forward will get five for five. Only 2022 won’t. Pretty absurd position to argue.

One interesting fact is that the NCAA had been fighting a 5 for 5 lawsuit filed by athletes in September, 2025. When the athletic association finally changed their mind, ostensibly in spring of 2026, they explicitly excluded the class of 2022. Then they waited until late June to make it an official rule. At that point, the passage of time and events made it more difficult for the class of 2022 to gain the extra year of eligibility. I'm not sure if that was always the plan, but it does give that vibe.

i’m glad SOMEBODY has the intelligence to remove all the emotion and faux moral outrage and call this for what it is - a massive failure by the powers that be.
I wish it didn’t sour everyone solely bc it’s Lane Kiffin. If it were Mike Leach at Miss State forcing the issue like this, I would be in his corner 100%.
Bottom line is that college fb is fukked right now with or without Kiffin until they get this straight.

Glad to see Texas is with us on this one, at least in getting rid of Sankey
