of losing JFF.
Co-offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Jake Spavital has been promoted to offensive coordinator and will take over the play calling duties.

Thank god
I'm on mobile, does it say McKinney was moved back to just RB coach?

Flame denied!
Spavital is a better choice. Sumlin didn't call the plays last year either.
cheers!

Should be a lot better than that RB coach. He was worse than Chaney. Difference is Chaney had Brandon Allen and their dude had JFF.

EVERY SINGLE TEAM that has had Sumlin as HC or OC has finished the year in the top 10 of total offense, with the sole exception of a Houston squad that finished #13 in a year when they lost their top three QBs to injury early in the year.
If Sumlin was unhappy with McKinney as a playcaller, it's for a good reason.

Eta fyi KK called the plays and when he left it was McKinney. Sumlin never did the play calling

Theead title is blatantly misleading, considering Sumlin had never called olshd at A&M.

How were his defenses and how many conference championships did we win at UofH? Don't know much of his previous tenure.

He went 12-1 with a BCS bowl win in his last year at UH. His defenses have not been great, but he's never had great defensive talent. Soon. He is sure as hell is recruiting some incredible defensive talent right now, though!

Sumlin comes through again...

Seems like a great move promoting spavital. Was shocked with the lack of run plays against us and not utilizing 3 of the conferences best rb's all season. The frick.

Sounds like the OP thinks Sumlin was in charge of play calling. Which he hasn't been in that position at A&M since he called plays for RC back in the early 2000's.

No, they went to the Ticket City Bowl which is now the Heart of Dallas Bowl and beat the piss out of the Penn State that JoePa had to step down from late in the season. Also, their current HC Tony Levine was the HC for that bowl game.

Unless he finds a defense I would say that fall out will be inevitable
