It is also intellectually dishonest to post this without mentioning that Chris Hilton (the only deep threat on the entire roster) was injured most of the year and was a non factor until the season finale and the bowl game in which he averaged 33 YPC with 3 TD's.

I'd say going for 4,000 without a true vertical deep threat in your offense is even more impressive if we're being intellectually honest about it.

Fair, though those bowl game totals were against the 94th ranked pass defense (101st against FBS opponents). Baylor was probably not the best pass defense to measure progress against.

And Hilton averaged 28.3 YPC and had 1 TD, not 3. That's a weird thing to lie about.

Also, really hard to believe that a team like mizzou has only had one really tough season opener.... and that was strictly due to covid.

And that will continue until week one in 2035 at BYU

To have a genuine marquee OOC or not isn't the only issue here. The bigger problem is the terrible FCS and 2 other OOC games that we also play as a rule. What is even worse is that we play all these directional schools at home. Why are we subjecting our fans and paying for overpriced tickets to games that are over before halftime? It's terrible competition at best, and frankly, we all have to pay a stupid price for automatic wins on a schedule.

Now we have SEC teams running scared of playing legit marquee OOC games in the name of wins. Losers.

I mean he threw for 4,000 yards and 29 touchdowns a year ago but OK.
He threw 525 passes and wasn’t the defense terrible?

Not all 4000/29 seasons are created equal.

I prefer a strong opener. Mainly because it's another great game on the schedule that would otherwise be a cupcake.

Second reason is team will be hyped up for an opener no matter who they are playing. Rather not waste that energy on a game we will win anyway.

Depends on if you actually win, anyone can schedule a loss. LSU’s making it a university holiday

Chris Hilton's Final 2 Games

Oklahoma: 2 Rec, 85 Yards, 2 TD's
Baylor: 4 Rec, 113 Yards, 1 TD

Not sure what I lied about when referencing his performance in the season finale and the bowl game.

The games just seem easier because Bama actually wins them.

Playoff wise TX is in much more of a needed win situation week 1 than LSU. Despite OSU maybe being one of the best losses you could have it would almost force TX to either go 7-1 in the SEC to make the playoff or go 6-2 have a tiebreaker to get in the SECCG and then win the SECCG. LSU on the other hand with the changes is a very likely playoff team at 9-3 with their schedule and SEC wins they would have at 6-2 in SEC play.

You made a statement and I pointed it out.... sorry but I didn't stop to review your past opponents.

However, you jumped in and assumed this topic referred to you. Don't be scared.
