Nothing can be fixed without an anti trust exemption. Unfortunately you can only get those from one source.

Or unionize the players and collectively bargain. And watch the fanbase walk away for a decade after the first work stoppage.

The NCAA is beyond fixing. The league doesn’t deserve an antitrust exemption, but if they do somehow get one:

1. It needs to be extremely narrow
2. There needs to be a new / separate governing body independent from the NCAA in charge of oversight of that component.

The NFL has almost had theirs revoked on multiple occasions for abuse, and the NCAA is about 100x worse than the NFL.

Even just the blatant hypocrisy of continuing to claim amateurism while actively seeking an exemption from antitrust is itself hilarious.

Personally, I think the ONLY half-decent proposition in the entire PCSA as it stands currently are transfer limitations… But that problem could also be fixed if they admitted pay for play & allowed direct contracts.

Also, salary caps on revenue sharing from media or conferences can’t do shite about NIL. SCOTUS has already made that clear. So this would just give the NCAA more power without leveling the playing field.

If the NCAA had a track record of integrity, competence, and fair enforcement it might be a different story… Unfortunately, that is not the case & I want to see those frickers stay in the locker that the law has been shoving them in for the past decade.
