There was an article from the Giants' beat writer recently, & it was the writer's take, on TV's first official PC, that TV was "almost having second thoughts". But would then come back, just sounding morose in general. Paraphrasing, things were not really happening & then the internet took over". FWIW but this was the team beat writer.

No, it's not. He made history. He has been given the keys to the Giants, one of the most storied Franchises in sports, which have won 3 World Series since 2010. The home of Willie Mays, Christy Mathewson, and Barry Bonds. Why would you rather coach games in Columbia Missouri or Starkville MS when you can be coaching in Fenway Park, Yankee Stadium, or Wrigley Field?

He is not even 50, yet he has been given the opportunity to coach a winning franchise. If he can get a National title and a World Series ring, he will be one of the greatest baseball coaches in history.

The biggest mistake Vitello made was taking a job in the Dodgers division
He will be back in college at a program with more resources then Tenn within 5 years

I could see him coming back for the Arkansas job.

Piggies are getting restless with DVH.

Especially when he realizes MLB players don’t put on fur coats after home runs and what used to be a bomb at Lindsey Nelson is just a routine pop fly in San Francisco

Yeah, every Tennessee fan knows this is what's going to happen if he comes back to college.

Just like:
-Pitino and UK
-Spurrier and Florida
-Saban and LSU

Elander will be doing just well enough that you can't fire him, and the Tennessee job won't be open. However, the x factor is DVH might retire at any point and Vitello has at least 3 years in the pros before being free. Gonna be interesting

None of those programs fell off the face of the earth when their coach left like Tenner baseball has.

Not even a Top 10 program anymore

"If..........greatest baseball coach in history"? Where have we heard this before? Multiple times??There are multiple MLB coaches alone, with proven resumes, not in the "what if /mabe" category, wayyyyy ahead of him. Add in The Goat, Skip, add Polk, Dedeaux, Augie, etc etc etc. Your :best ever, real lfe, has won one national championship.

Maybe he will comeback to Missouri to be the next HC.
