He’s a limited QB and you can’t win national titles with QBs like him without a lot of talent around him and even then you probably need a lot of things go your way in those big games for the circumstances to line up such that you can win with such a limited QB. Georgia got a good roll.

You seem to be saying bama caught a break with the JTD injury?

Actually it’s the perfect analogy.
Those Ravens and Bulldogs teams were very similar. Great defenses, some saying best of all time for both. QB were game managers not asked to win the games bc of their limitations, just don’t lose them.

Besides the fact that Bennett excelled and difler didn’t. One was the championship game MVP, and the other wasn’t.

Bc the NFL will give the MVP to a defensive player when they deserve it. College football, nope, see Heisman as well. So they just gave to the QB of the winning team bc no other offensive player stood out. No one watching that game thought this QB is playing at a MVP level.

Bama grad? Dude obviously holds his breath while typing, based on his punctuation.

Yep, Stetson made one good throw the entire game. Prior to that Georgia fans were about ready to throw him away.

You either didn’t watch the game or you’re a moron.

Aggie had gone 41 years without a Natty when UGA won in 1980, and aggie still has not won a Natty in the 41 years since 1980.

Maybe aggie should try to win the SEC West before thinking about a Natty.

Totally agree, but I like our chances of winning it all when we do win the West bc that pretty much has happened for the other west winners the past 10 years unless they lose both their starting WRs.

Nor did anyone think he played poorly like difler

No Shitisky

One could say winning the west is harder than winning the NC. ;-)

They were thinking that. Definitely until he finally connected on that one pass.

Maybe? JTD was less mobile. I think Alabama could’ve doubled their sack totals in each game but JTD would’ve been more able to sling it around in the 2020 and 2021 games. Sacks aren’t a great barometer of success though. Alabama was all over Stet’s arse in the CFPCG but he hit 2-3 big plays against man coverage so it didn’t work out.

Bennet was 4/4 for 80+ and 2 touchdowns in the fourth quarter. He led a game winning drive and game sealing drive, both ending in passing touchdowns. I don’t think Bennet is elite, but saying the guy that finished third in YPA and QBR isn’t good is ridiculous.

Bennett has been very good at everything except for bad decisions under pressure for both years at UGA. He has legitimate very good traits - great feet, calm, great deep ball.

Sometimes his accuracy is erratic and he's struggled when pressured making bad reads, but he's a legitimate very solid college QB.

Stetson’s capacity to play the QB position has been blatantly obvious for most of the year. He definitely improved on some of his decisions over the course of the year but not much has changed. No, he’s not better than Bryce Young, nor is he worse than Zach Calzada. I’ve seen both claimed here multiple times.

I don’t recall Stetson making many plays with his feet vs bama, so that doesn’t matter in the comp. He won the game with passes. What JTD does bring is an nfl arm, and that would have made uga better than it was, imo.

But then……Bennet was 4/4 for 80+ and 2 touchdowns in the fourth quarter.
