But they weren’t. No one was stopping NC State. They almost beat Vandy with half a team that hadn’t had at bats all year. They had the swagger and probably would’ve won 2 games to 0

Winning that tourney is one of the most difficult achievements in collegiate athletics.
If anything, State had to overcome the bullshite NC ST disqualification saga which saw Vandy start a fully rested Jack Leiter in Game 1, whereas State was forced to piece together their championship series rotation, just like every other champion in any other CWS.
Congrats State, well-deserved
