On the whole, MSU fans are some of my favorites in the SEC.
Good, genuine folks.
But I’m perplexed by the hubris some of y’all have with regard to your baseball program/facilities.
State is doing some great things; but the way some Bulldog fans talk about the program, it’s as if they’ve convinced themselves that MSU is on a mystical tier, far above anyone else.
Maybe I’m misreading the situation (wouldn’t be the first time)?

Could not agree more. You nailed it and IT IS a head scratcher ... God Bless their little hearts.
I know what it is but will not say because their is no way to type it, in the absence of voice inflection and facial expression, that would not offend them.

The Mississippi State baseball myth is perplexing, that's for sure. I have always chalked it up to decades of being dominated on the gridiron - there was always baseball - at least on the conference level.
"Y'all play in a high school football stadium," Well, State fills up the park for baseball games.
Everyone loves a winner - and MSU just hasn't had many. Women's sports are so bad at MSU that the women's basketball went 30-0 in the regular season and lost the national championship game on a last second 3 pointer AND THEY STILL FINISHED DEAD LAST in the SEC all womens sports standings.
Baseball has been respectable historically. But because everything else has been so bad, the success of baseball has been elevated to a mythical sense. We're a solid program with a good fan following.

Random parts of the outfield taken out for fans to stand around.
Field turf batter's box.

Good fan following by SEC standards.
Excellent by national standards.

The left field loungers are cultish and a little defensive.

Are you really drawing conclusion on fan perspective based on 20 idiots in this thread? No realistic State fan is going to argue that we’re some powerhouse. We haven’t won a NC yet. But this new stadium really is a crown jewel. I’ve been to LSU, Arky, Ole Miss, and while they are fantastic stadiums, they don’t come close to the new Dude imo. I was blown away by how much larger it looks in person. Also who honestly cares about turf in foul play. What a butthurt cherry pick complaint to make.

Just went to Nashvilles minor league park this past weekend. Maybe the best one I've been to.

Sounds stadium is pretty dope. A lot to do in the outfield.

We've done more in Women's Basketball the past two seasons then our baseball team has ever done. There is 0 doubt in my mind Women's Basketball gives State more revenue, exposure, and postseason magic than baseball ever has.

Your baseball team still turns a solid revenue even in a down year for a few decades(wild guess). I would be really surprised if women's basketball broke even.

BB&T Park in Charlotte
Not being from that area of the country, I don’t hear much about Charlotte’s ballpark, but I do know it’s a great facility.
I’m curious: Those of you in the know ... does Charlotte ever toss around the idea of throwing its hat into the ring to be named as a possible MLB expansion team/city?
Don’t mean to hijack the thread, just curious.

Absolutely. But historically we have been awful in womens basketball. At one point we were 1-50 against Ole Miss and 0-38 against Tennessee all-time.

Look at the TV Viewership for WBB Final Four vs CWS. You maybe surprised.

Before we hired Schaefer we had 4 less NCAAT victories than the Men's Basketball team had all time. I'm not saying they were great, but in a basketball league dominated by Tennessee, it's not as terrible as everyone makes it out to be. Certainly they're on a different level now than any State fan would've dreamed of. They're on the level that many fans think our baseball team is on right now.

Yeah, I live in Nashville. They did a great job with that stadium. Great location, much better than the previous Sounds stadium, perfect size and great fan amenities.
