Going Saturday for the LSU game. Should be in town by 11. Where to hang before? What to do after and Saturday night?

El oh el at the salty corn dogs. Starkvegas really isn't that bad. Definitely not as big and exciting as other SEC campuses but there's definitely plenty to do. C'mon on bullies what's it called, cotton district? Just remember going to an area names something like that after a game a few years ago.

I'm willing to bet you haven't been in 5+ years. City has grown exponentially and is a great place IMO. I grew up in Baton Rouge, and still love it here in Starkville.

It's not all that bad. Get some classic chicken-on-a-stick from Lil Dewey's and then play a round of golf at the Dancing Rabbit.

The cotton district contains maybe 4 bars each the size of a small dog house.

Their downtown is alright I guess.

There has to be SOME PLACE the locals go

If it's warm then the cotton district will be fun (mostly outdoor patio bars). Otherwise if it's cold go downtown there's a couple good bars there.
If you want to find some easy strange you could go to ricks or cowbells. But make sure you wear a rubber with those girls

No. It's still freaking awful. I go to Starkville all the time for friends and my ex is from there. Place is a dump and sucks the fun out of the air. Just drive home after the game save yourself the boredom

You must be the life of the party. I bet they wish you'd quit coming to town.

I have, and it sucks.
I went to Starkville for the first time during the 2009 Egg Bowl. Would've been miserable anyway, so I gave Starkville the benefit of the doubt.
However, since then, I've been to a basketball game at the Hump and the baseball series this past year during Super Bulldog Weekend.
I can definitively say without a doubt now that it's not much of a town. If Oxford is "Grenada without the lake" then Starkville is "Walnut with an institution of higher learning".
There's some good places to eat like Stromboli's and Restaurant Tyler, but the atmosphere is so meh. They talk up the Cotton District and it's literally just a few shops in a building with nice architecture. I even went when it was pretty packed for their Arts Festival.
But, don't take my word for it. Go in with an open mind and get back with me. I'm pretty sure you'll agree.

It's probably cause you're a cheesedick who has no friends/personality. If you can't have fun in every SEC town then you are more than likely the problem.
