Should let some of your buddies over on bamamag in on that. I got a kick out of the post today comparing Auburn to Saddam Hussein.
I haven't posted on bamamag in a few days so no that wasn't me. When I do post there it's usually to disagree with something there. My last post was in a thread about people bitching about the Brunos Event team and how they run the parking, gameday traffic, etc. I was defending Hallman and the job his group does in running things. I get so sick and tired of some of the whining on that board.

Stanley McClover's mom is so fat she went to the movies and sat next to everyone.

Him claiming he was paid is in no way against his interests.
Seriously?

How do they hurt his reputation?
Think about it.

Strawman. No one made that claim but you. More questions were asked than ever and it was determined that there wasn't any evidence that he was paid.
Not you, but the original poster. That was his point. Cam was certainly no more credible. I didn't know that my dad was asking for money to secure my recruitment. That is credible? But, I was paid by people to go to Auburn personally, isn't credible. Ha!
quote:
If you refuse to answer questions about it other than blanket statements, then there is some reason to doubt the story.
Yep, Eric Dickerson and Craig James weren't paid. SMU was clean. Need to doubt that story. Go read any interview where they ask James or Dickerson about SMU. They refuse to answer questions about it. Your logic dictates that we should doubt anything untoward happened at SMU.
quote:
Not at all.
To use your legal analogy: Cam was investigated and the DA couldn't make a case against him or AU.
McClover reported a crime, but when the investigators showed up he wouldn't tell them when, where or who. Yet he would get attention by going on national tv and give interviews talking about how bad the crime was.
While it may be wrong, it is certainly not intellectually dishonest to think he isn't credible.
You didn't use any analogy, and I'm not sure what you are arguing here. You are basically claiming that McClover is such a narcissist that he would lie about committing a crime (in Bama it may not be but in many states it is) so that he could get attention. Who does that? Is he mentally ill? If he is, I may have to reexamine the situation.
quote:
He could say who, how much, where, when? Answers to these would provide details to better determine the credibility of his statements.
He could. You assume he knows every rich white guy who hands him money. Or he was handed money. Envelopes show up. Look at SMU, which is the standard for these types of schemes.
I don't know if Stanley or Cam did pay for play and don't care. The tightrope walk to give credence to one while discounting the other based on viewpoint bias amuses me either way.

Of course you would. Look if what has taken place wouldn't have pushed him to provide info, he doesn't have any IMO. If he does bring it. His name hasn't come up for a bit until a gump posted this interview. Who cares what Stanley has to say? He's a liar for all intents and purposes.

I don't know who you think I am but I haven't started any threads on any Alabama boards about Auburn recruiting or rules violations. Just because you assume I'm one of the pot stirrers on BamaMag doesn't mean I am one. I have gone to ITAT and copied and pasted stuff here but I haven't started one of the crazy "Auburn is cheating" or "the Bammers/REC are buying players" threads you see so often on BamaMag and ITAT respectively.

I'm inclined to believe Newton because an NCAA investigation found no evidence of wrongdoing.
That is not what the NCAA said. They said they couldn't find to a burden of proof. Big difference.
Not guilty does not mean innocent.

Seriously?

Think about it.
quote:Based on your ability to type complete sentences, you have to get it by now. No one is believing Cam was not paid based solely on his denial.
Cam was certainly no more credible.
quote:That doesn't even make sense. My logic was McClover was lodging an allegation but refused to discuss the details of any allegation. You now compare him to the targets of an investigation. Quit with your bullshite.

quote:Yes, I did.
You didn't use any analogy
quote:This is where you have failed spectacularly. Your argument assumes people have to make their judgment calls based solely on the words of the two individuals and ignore any other considerations that could go into their believing one and not the other. You also assume that it is intellectually dishonest to make judgment calls on different people's credibility.
The tightrope walk to give credence to one while discounting the other based on viewpoint bias amuses me either way.

Pretty much. Auburn came out clean from the 12ish month NCAA colonoscopy after the Cam Newton gate. So I'm not that concerned.

They better pay him more than $180,000 for the effort he is putting into this shite
