Best coached team in America.
with equal qb talent and less talented everywhere else i'm not sure it would matter because it isn't like petrino is a bad coach.

Coin flip that Stanford wins 6 of 10.

The only time Stanford saw an offense anything close to Arkansas, Oregon smoked 'em. Arkansas would do the same Oregon did to Stanford.

This year, Stanford by 2 td's. Most other years, Ar-Kansas by a td.

Hell the only time they saw a RANKED TEAM they were smoked.
-Interesting Note: The four BCS teams thus far have played, going into their bowl games, a grand total of FIVE ranked opponents (as the rankings stand nd are likely to finish up). Every team in the SEC WEst played at least four.

Arkansas would beat Stanford like the Cardinals owed them money!
VT is all ESPN hype/smoke and mirrors, with little to no substance.
I'd also take Bobby Petrino over CJH at Stanford, but that's just my personal preference.

I've always thought of VT as a solid 15-20 team (maybe number ten on a great year) thats hyped up to be something they're not, a legitmate top 5 or 10 team.

There is a lot to be said for being battle-tested.
I suspect the game would be played in the high 30s to low 40s; the difference would be an SEC-tested set of lines against a team that was manhandled up front by Oregon and was, while at times pretty dominant, had a couple of lapses that Luck bailed them out of in PAC-10 play. Ultimately, the only way Stanford wins is forcing turnovers-- and more than 3 of them.

It'd be a fun high scoring game. 2 great offenses. Two solid but unspectacular defenses.

Stanford could win the SEC, this is why Aubbies will lose to the Dux.

they're the same team.
Arkansas's skill guys are better.
Arkansas wins. hoes.

If you saw the second half of yesterday's game you'd be crazy to think any team would "smoke" Stanford right now. They have the best defense in the Pac 10 and the second-best offense. That is something. Maybe Alabama and LSU have a better defense than Stanford right now, but I don't think any other SEC team's defense is as good. This is definately one of the top 5 teams in the country. I would say the other 4 are Oregon, Auburn, TCU and Alabama. I don't think you could really say who's best amongst these teams and would have to let them play.
With that said I think Stanford beats Arkansas 8/10 times.
I don't understand the SOS argument as to who is better. I can see it for who is "more deserving" but as to who is better it doesn't make sense. If a team in C-USA recruited a team full of Jesuses and went unbeaten you guys would still say they are not as good as Arkansas because "Arkansas played 5 ranked opponets!!!!11!". SOS is beyond a team's control and should have little bearing on how well they play/how good they are. Again, see 2009 Utah vs. Alabama.
///but but but they just didn't show up!!!
