You're not wrong with most you say. Actually you're nailing it. I just see it a little different. UGA actually does try to establish a run game and they do it in vain. Our OL is pitiful and our RB are not of the highest caliber so you'd just watch UGA run 2x and be faced with 3rd and 7-8. UGA ended up going pass happy out of neccesity but they still would throw in an I'll advised dive up the middle.
Richts inept reign created a soft team. Bobos poor/predictable play calling handicapped up. Searels poor OL units only exacerbated it. There all idiots but he's up there with the dumbest

he did a good job in 2007 with a young OL. 2008 DID had two tones of injuries- something like 20+starters or significant contributors were out for at least large chunks of the schedule on both sides of the ball. However,w hat got my goat in 2009 and 2010 was how weak the Ol looked, not just in strength, but in technique as well. It wasn't all Searles' fault, but I didn't cry when he left either.
As for Muschamp's quotes: It is easy to poo poo the impact of injuries in the offseason. Let's see how much sangfroid he maintains if that same run of luck occurs at the end of fall camp or during the season.

UGA always seems to have injury problems... more so than most teams... maybe a new S&C coach will help that out.

I think part of that is that UGA also does not drop anyone with an injury after they have committed no matter how serious it is. Alot of times, esp with OL, that means they come into the program with problems- notably Austin Long and Benedict in recent years. Ron Courson, the team physician is also a huge supporter of the move to focus attention on concussions in football, so he has always been swift to name a spade a spade when I think most other programs just let the lesser ones slide.

Searles was far from the first choice for the Horns, that says a great deal.
The Texas O-line has been horrible for the past few years.....yes, even during 08 & 09 when Texas only lost one regular season game during that span. I could make some wise arse comments about how things couldn't get worse for our o-line than it was in 10 but I am old enough to know it can always get worse. Even with all of the 5* RBs we are bring in, it is worthless with a joke o-line and a QB who can't complete a pass longer than 10 yards.
Can you tell I am pessimistic about next season?!?

In my uneducated opinion, searels can put a good OL product on the field.... looks like texas has had the same problem as UGA.... both teams have had a soft offensive philosophy of late. It's hard to just become aggressive and become an effective rushing team.
From watching UT's spring game, it looked like more under center and downfield rushing.... so maybe it's headed in the right direction.... but, IMO, it starts with the HC.

Well Texas went from a more speed/finesse spread to more of a downfield rushing pro offense which is completely different in line standards. But they could have done way better than searels

and they know that.... but with last year's clusterfuk on offense, a brand new OC, and Mack acting like he's got one foot out the door (not to mention the HCIW jumps ship) it's gonna be hard to get the #1 guy on your list, even if your the University of Texas at Austin.
IMO, it worked out well for both teams... UGA gets new ideas and new blood at OL, and UT gets a decent OL coach who needs a fresh start and change of scenery.

Glad he's not our coach.

i can see that. it was a great move for searels. he's feeling heat and has a staff that seems on the verge of collapse. when he left you should have seen the reaction of everyone saying that this may be the beginning of UGA's coaches mass exodus because their jobs were not secure any more.
but hey they still got manny diaz which is an A+ hire IMO
