Right, but opposing coaches could say no, as that's in the rules too. Other coaches/AD's should have as big a balls as Spurrier and tell LSU to kick rocks with their entitled white at home.

Ok, works fir me. I read a synopsis of where Spurrier played the 2nd half with game on the line.
And Lane Fenner was in-bounds in the 1966 game. Doug Mosley royally screwed FSU.

5-8-1

And Bowden had a losing record against UF.
You're welcome.

sure, but they chose to allow it. So, they're still following the rules right?

See, that's an opinion of yours, but has nothing to do with whether or not the rules are being followed.

So, like I said, maybe limit everything you've been saying to "I think home teams should have to wear colored jerseys and don't think coaches should ever agree to let the home team wear white" instead of saying you just think the rules should be followed when, in fact, they are being followed. And I guess I just discovered that having a unique tradition is being entitled, a tradition that, quite frankly, doesn't affect the opponent. I'm sorry you think LSU's tradition is stupid.

I've never fully understood LSU's aversion to wearing the purple jerseys. I think they look great.

Tradition plus when we were forced to wear purple at home it largely overlapped with the worst era in the history of the program.

Though some of my earliest memories going to LSU games were the 86 and 88 SEC Championship teams, which wore purple at home.

It dates back to the 1960s when LSU would have to wear them on the road, sometimes as an underdog, and would lose. The losses became linked to the purple jerseys.

This of course escalated to a crescendo during the failed campaigns of Mike Archer and Curley Hallman. Losses mounted and were attributed to the "curse of the purple jerseys" rather than poor play or poor coaching. And at that time the NCAA decreed that home teams wear dark jerseys, in opposition to LSU's traditional home whites.

It's not an aversion so much as a tradition that dates back to the 1958 national championship season. Paul Deitzel decided to wear white at home that season, and LSU went on to an undefeated national title season, so the tradition stuck

Ah! That's make sense to me.

Dinardo brought back the tradition of home white uni's in '95. Vandy's coach Woody Woodenhoffer (sp) refused to let us wear white in '96 I believe to piss off Gerry Dinardo for leaving Vandy to come to LSU.

We got hosed in that game. Fred Booker picked off a pass for a td and they called some bogus offsides penalty. Home Swamp Cooking.

Well, not really, until Saban became coach in 2000.

Our colors are Mardi Gras colors. Your colors were easy. Red for Redneck. Too bad there is not a color associated with a-hole so you could use that one too.

Dinardo lost 12 home games in 5 seasons as LSU coach, which is better than Hallman's 16 home losses in 4 seasons, but it's still not good.
