Ah so you did. My apologies
I'll ask this though. Can it not be considered a rivalry and still play them every other year?
Spacewrangler (bama fan) said earlier that he could deal with that.
Do yall not want to play other teams from the west?

Could you clarify? It seems hard to see a scenario where two teams would play every other year.

I said that's the one game Tennessee has to have on the schedule.
Non-conference bitches!
BTW, I can't believe that you guys hired Willie Martinez as you DB coach/ Asst Head coach.

Trying to explain rivalries to an LSU fan is like trying to explain ice fishing to someone from the Bahamas. They have no concept of what it means.

Havent read the thread. But are the LSU fans in favor of games that dont count now?

Yeah, I'm at a loss. Every time I look at our recruiting and start to become optimistic, I remember how awful our staff really is.

The concept is called non-conference scheduling. Learn it, know it, love it.

I'll change my question a bit.
Would you be ok with playing them and it not count as a conference game?
We'll say in this scenario you still play them annually.

Gonna be interesting, because Jones has invigorated the masses and is recruiting well so far. I think you guys would have had a good class anyway with all the connections you have to some of the prospects.

No, because I'd be way too scared that it would just get phased out. Freaking Notre Dame and Michigan won't even play each other every year, and their schedules don't compare.
edit: It's preferable to not playing, but I would hope Tennessee and Alabama fight tooth and nail to keep it as a conference game. I do feel like playing it as an OOC game would diminish the significance.

Yea because none of us are fans of any pro sports that have rivalries or anything.
And you honestly think people from the Bahamas have never heard of ice fishing?
Not the brightest crayon in the box, this one.

So yall wouldnt mind changing the WLOCP to a non conference game?
I think we are onto something here folks. eliminating all the rivlary games(divisional and non) and making them into non conference games means we can play almost the entire SEC in one season(8 games), sans rivals.
Problem solved

Well you guys should be praying we don't go to 16 teams then because these rivalries will definitely be phased out if so.

perhaps everyone could calm down and realize that Tennessee is in fact one of the best programs in the sec and will be that again. their current period of suckage is a mere blip on the timeline of a rivalry over 100 years old. if the whiners get their way and do away with permanent opponents, the same whiners will be accusing alabama of dodging Tennessee during years that they are good and we dont play them.

Depends on how they structure the divisions. Not sure how it would work if/when it's actually implemented.
In any case, I want Tennessee and Alabama to end up in the same division.

I give zero frick about the poodles. Now the other Gators fans will have a problem with it. But we aren't talking about one rival. We are talking about multiple rivals. That is the issue here.

Only if you had them scheduled, then Saban bitched about it, so they gave UT to LSU and gave Bama UK.
Other than that, naaa.
