So far all you have to crow about is what you think he will do differently than he has done in his long career as a head coach.

This time last year, casuals like you were swearing he wouldn't be able to beat SEC teams (especially Alabama) because he never had before.

No doubt. If he's in the same position in five years then that will be indefensible.

In the last two recruiting classes at LSU, Kelly has recruited 6 5-stars and 19 4-stars in total. 40 total recruits.

At A&M in the last 2 classes, Fisher has recruited 17 5-stars and 23 4-stars. 49 total recruits.

I don't think your view of how well they recruit is very accurate

Damn, that was a LONG reach to make that point considering Kelly has only been at LSU for one recruiting cycle.

Jesus.

So... a comment was made that since he's now at LSU and has an equal recruiting budget, he's just as good a recruiter as Jimbo...

Then when I point out what he has done at LSU compared to Jimbo in the same time period, it's a reach because Kelly hasn't been at LSU very long.

The hoops you are jumping through to try to come out ahead here are amazing. You don't want to look at past results because it's about what the coaches can do now... but when we point out the now (the fact Kelly LOST to Jimbo for example), that doesn't matter either.

You hired a good but not great coach. Just accept that fact. You'll have a run of 9-11 win seasons until he retires with no championships. That's what you signed on for, and that's what you'll most likely get.

Trying to claim your old mutt is a greyhound because he switched schools simply isn't realistic.

Orrrr we can crow about the fact that Brian Kelly has never lost to Nick Saban and has never not won the SEC West while at LSU.

That won't get you a natty. Brian Kelly has never won anything, in a long, long football career.

And the rest of us with just pretend that 2012 and 2020 didn't happen, just for you and your fragile Kelly expectations.

Spin it as you want. All the crowing in Rantville doesn't make Kelly a NC coach. Show me the hardware or it simply isn't so.

Kelly was hired in November of 2021. Most of the 2022 class had already signed at that point.

You're comparing a complete staff change in the middle of a recruiting cycle to an incumbent staff's recruiting cycle.

Who does that?

Recruiting is always in an upheaval during a staff change.

I could say the same thing about you.

It matters about as much as Saban losing to Louisiana Monroe in his first season, in the grand scheme.

You seem incapable of looking at the bigger picture and that's fine, some people struggle with it.

It happened at Jimbo Fisher's house. He has won an NC.

Kelly admits he can't win a championship at Notre Dame. A place that has 13 of them. Go figure.

It’s been 8 years since Fisher has won anything. You sure are fixated on that 2013 title though.

Things change.

No one has won a NY6/BCS bowl at Notre Dame in 30 years, people like to blame Kelly for that but they ignore the fact that no else has done it either.

Because they weren't good enough either. History says you can win at Notre Dame. Kelly wasn't good enough to win number 14 at Notre Dame. So he took the money and ran all the way to BR.

History says you can win at a lot of places. That doesn’t make it a reality in 2023.

History also says Yale and Princeton can win national titles yet here we are.

You posted a thread about Josh Pate the other day, he has a few segments you should watch to educate yourself.

Is LSU hype justified

Will LSU win a title in the next 5 years?

Actually, NONE of the 2022 class had signed at that point.

But don't let facts throw you off.

I will agree with you there, they started signing roughly 2 weeks after the hire.
