Spinoff scheduling thread: WLOCP and other neutral site games

So if we go to a 9 game schedule, the way I find it happens elsewhere is for one division to have 5 home games one year and then the other and it keeps rotating from there. From what I understand the cocktail party is that UGA and UF give up a home game in alternating years and replace it with the cocktail party. This means one team will stay constant at 4 home games every year because their year of giving up the cocktail party will be during the 5 home game rotation and the other team will fluctuate between 3 and 5 home games every other year. Ultimately this evens out over time but seems like a possibly weird situation depending on the season. Am I over thinking this or is this something UGA/UF fans have discussed about a 5 game schedule?
Ex:
UGA gets 5 home games like everyone else in the east. Minus 1 for the cocktail party equals 4. Florida gets 5 home games like everyone in the east.
Next year: UGA gets 4 home games like everyone in the east. Florida gets 4 home games in the west minus 1 for the cocktail party equals 3.

That explains why Mullen proposed a 9 game schedule with 4 home, 4 away, and 1 neutral. Not sure how intriguing many of the neutrals would be.

No one will support that. Can’t host recruits. Not sure if it’s SEC or NCAA rule.

In 2012 the league eliminated the rule preventing its football programs from hosting recruits at neutral-site games. However, Georgia and Florida will not take advantage of that opportunity at their annual matchup in Jacksonville, Fla.
quote:
The new rule -- sponsored by Arkansas and Texas A&M representatives -- will permit the designated home team at off-campus games to provide tickets to prospects as unofficial visitors. Aside from Georgia-Florida, the Razorbacks and Aggies are the only teams in the league that play off-campus games, as they have played one another in Arlington, Texas, and Arkansas also plays some home games in Little Rock.

It's going to be difficult to work around the snag caused by the Georgia-Florida game on Jacksonville for the 9 game schedule, but I promise that the rest of the conference will not be enthusiastic at all about having to have one neutral site conference game every year. It's not the kind of thing that works well when it is forced.

It’s easy, allow the school that’s considered the home team to host recruits.

Even then, I think not. I love the game in Jacksonville, but it is hard for fans of a team with a traditional neutral site rival to appreciate how uninterested other teams' fans are about having one game a year, every year, against the same team in a large metro like Atlanta, Dallas, Memphis, Birmingham, etc. rather than rotating between their campus and another that they can travel to.

the solution is obvious
stay at 8 games in conference and schedule 2 P5 OOC games a year
also, switch to a system where everyone gets 3 permanent conference opponents a year and rotate 5 teams, preserves all the traditional rivalry games and let's each school face each other more often, top 2 go to SECCG
no way I can support 9 conference games unless EVERY team is required to play 2 P5 OOC games
UF, USC and KY fans will agree with me
no way that I want to drop the GA Tech game as a permanent game, nor do I want them to be the only P5 game we get every year moving forward
