wrong. my post on the rant has to do with coaching ability and talent on the field. this has to do with jersey colors. clothing doesn't affect football games.

it gets the players hyped, you're saying that doesn't change the way they play?

bullshite imo. players LOVE shite like this.

I think Gene Stallings summed it up BEFORE the Bammers-Georgia game. A caller asked him what he would of said if his players came up and requested to wear black for a game when he was coaching. He laughed and said: "I don't think they would have ever done that. If you are worried about what you're going to wear, you're already beat."

I'm not saying it's what's motivating them, but it has been used to help motivate them in the past. Why do it?

What if it motivates the fans and players of USCjr. more? The fact that we're discussing the implications of fashion on an SEC football game is pretty fricking sad imo.

Exactly. Bama was gonna whip UGa that night, whether they wore raspberry and lime.

It's 11:30 on a Wednesday, I thought it was noteworthy. Excuse me, let me step aside for your awesome thread.

they don't need it. they're the No. 1 team in the country and Nick Saban's teams rarely come out flat.

It never hurts to have extra incentive. That will be a huge game for us.

Bama is usally as pumped as anyone for a game, but the players are still human and can get complacent. A USC blackout would be something Saban would harp into their heads all week. "They think they are going to beat you guys.....they are putting on a big show for the nation to see an upset. Is it gonna happen or are you going to shut them up, aight?"

In my opinion Saban gets these guys going regardless of Jersey color, scheduling issue, etc.

Besides the Utah fiasco, I agree

True fans don't like blackouts since Florida 2001, when we blacked the stadium out and got fricking demolished.

I like it that so many teams are trying different things to get up for the 'Bama game. Reminds me that we're relevant again. Roll Tide.

Except we aren't doing anything except the team is practicing. There's no link. There's no 100+ thread on Cockytalk (trust me..there would be). Nothing. It's just rumors.

Your program is in trouble if this is what's motivating your players (I don't believe it is what's motivating them though FWIW)

Let Penn State have the "outs" which they do correctly. People need to get original and stop copying, badly...what someone else does.

Alabama has destroyed both Georgia and Miss St on the road in black out gimmick games.
