I just responded to the poster who said South Carolina had play makers on defense by noting that Carolina hasn't had a good defense since Muschamp took over. It's typically been in the bottom half of the country. Meanwhile Tennessee had a Top 25 defense last year and should be even better this season. You then arbitrarily injected Georgia St into the picture.

One of our Defensive Lineman was a first round draft pick
And two others were all SEC. (one of them also drafted, the other is now a Junior)
So yes we had have playmakers on the defense
But this doesn’t mean much for the team

You understand there is a difference between statistics, and actual play on the field right? Muschamp hasn't had a "good defense" at USC mainly because of offensive struggles. You can't expect a team to lose the Time of possession battle every week and have a "good defense".
Do you even watch football and understand the most basic concepts in the game or do you just look at statistics to make your decisions about how good or bad a team is?

See the thing is, we lost to those teams In 2018. So, beating them all the following year would be evidence of some kind of...upward trajectory, which was your whole point. You have been proven wrong so now you change the goalposts into the quality of the teams we beat, which is irrelevant regarding the current issue i.e. whether we improved from the year before or not. Suck me

I'm a data guy. I look at trends.
Trends say there is no reason to think Tennessee will be any better than the mediocre/average team that they've been since Fulmer was pushed out.
