You idiots always want the coach fired.Look how hard it was for programs like FLA,AU ETC.had getting a coach.THEY went for the gold,LK, and got their 2nd teamers.USCe isn’t even on the level of prestige of those schools,so what makes you think you will end up with a better coach than what you have.

On the flip side of that, there aren't a ton of coaches at major programs on the hot seat. Barring a scandal happening elsewhere or someone just completely tanking, SC should easily be one of the most appealing open jobs if it comes open.
It's also why MSU needs to cut bait with Lebby if he's in the 4-6 range again.

Hard to predict though. Don't think anyone thought Kelly would be fired after beating Clemson last year.
What if Sark, Heupel, Riley, and/or Dabo go 6-6? Boosters will get antsy.
FSU is a good one to watch, Norvell has to really prove something with a shitty schedule this year.
But yeah, it'll be nothing like last year, which was maybe the craziest ever.

SC is an appealing job in a vacuum, yes. It has resources. It has a great fanbase, and wonderful facilities. Talent-rich state/location.
But let's say that Wisconsin fires Fickel. Head to head, which is the better job? Michigan State is in a similar vein.
I'm a Carolina alum. Love the program, the school, and the state. But it has its challenges, and one of them being that it has never won large/consistently. Fits and starts, but never year over year.
The next coach hired at SC who leaves for a bigger job will be the first.

Michigan State hasn't won more than 5 games since 2021. Wisconsin hasn't won more than 7 in that timeframe. SC was in the playoff picture just year before last. Neither school is putting the resources in that South Carolina is in the NIL era. Coaches pay attention to that. I think it's more attractive than you give credit for.
The path may be simpler at Michigan State but they expect you to play Ohio State, Michigan, and Notre Dame at a minimum every year. The margin for error is just as slim there as it is at SC.

Certainly a concern. Deboer could be one to watch as well, and I don't think SC will be the de facto #1 job available, but I think it will be one of the top 3-5 unless ALL of these teams have that kind of year. Last year they wouldn't have been top 3 in the SEC and borderline top 10 in the country.

@ Bama
@ Florida
@ OU
@ Clemson
Georgia
A&M
Tennessee
They have 0% chance of winning in Norman or at home against UGA. Others id say 25-40% chance to win

This was in the 70s but my grandfather, who was from Edgefield, used to tell me Carolina struggled to win consistently because the politicians in Columbia interfered too much, things like wanting their kids getting playing time and their buddies getting coaching positions for example.
I don't know if that's true or if he was just messing around like he was prone to do but they used to frustrate him because he was a pretty big fan.
