If Clemson is such a destination school why did they hire their fricking WR coach?

He's a good leader and was a coach at Alabama which goes a long ways even though it probably something (see Florida's coach). He also started out the interim coach and proved himself capable of the job including a win over Spurrier his first half season.

He beat Boston College (snapped a SIX year losing streak against BOSTON COLLEGE), Duke, Virginia, and South Carolina.

He lost to FSU and Nebraska. Yeah he really earned that HC position.

Did you know South Carolina was 7-6 that year?

Regardless of South Carolina having more money or not, it doesn't help when they spend the least amount of it on recruiting vs many others in the SEC especially.

I assume that will change with the new HC.

Dabo has been 6-1 against BC and should be 7-1 after tomorrow. BC had 3 wins during Bowden years, one went to overtime, one went to double overtime, and the other was a 3 point win. Those were the Matt Ryan years and they had a great RB too, Calender was his name I think.

One year SC beat Clemson in the streak we had a losing season, 6-7, I believe Dabo's 2nd year. You count that when talking about the 5 year streak.

Dabo has beat FSU at least twice. 2 out of 3 at Clemson and favored to win this year. Last year normally reliable FG kicker missed two FGs,one of which would have won it. would have still one it if our track star RB had not had a terrible fumble on their 10 yard line shortly after we got a turnover. held them to negative rushing yards in the game.

If we can get Kirby and a couple helpers maybe. Did you see where we just bought a flood prone area (on the Congaree) of 300 acres for over 3 million dollars?

Enough said.

I was referring to your post about Dabo "earning" the job. Has the hire worked out for Clemson? Absolutely. Was it a good hire at the time? Nope. Everyone was saying WTF. Quit changing your argument

he had recruit C J Spiller and other studs out of other states. not that bad of a hire, plus keep in mind school had to pay Bowden millions of dollars and Dabo didn't ask for much.

Comes to South Carolina in your upper 50s..... leave in your 70s..... that's their M.O.

Dantonio is one of the few coaches that fits that mold.

SC respects its elders.

Your little snot-nosed punk arse should try it.

I know for a fact that is about to change drastically. In a big way. To the tune of at least four times the old budget which Spurrier could have had any time he wanted it - he said he didn't need it.

Lesson learned.

SC is not willing to get their hands nearly as dirty as Auburn East.

Exactly ... we refuse to cheat. We've always been that way and it has cost us. It's part of our mission statement, DNA even. It's the old school honor system and our coaches are made aware of it during the hiring process and have been for 100 years ... it's on record.

But hey, I believe that we should absolutely stretch the limits if we are going to compete with the taterheads. They have been cheating almost their entire history but they went full bore all-in around 1975 after we laid a beat-down on them and had an edge in the post WWII overall series record. It was at that point they threw huge amounts of cash at athletes, suffered major probations twice that should have cost them the death penalty both times ... and have never stopped cheating since.

They got smart though. They new the state of NC, SC and TN had spies everywhere willing to turn them in so they moved their major recruit-buying efforts to Florida and they have been very successful down there buying recruits.
