Is it so hard to get your brain around the fact that nationally and regionally the "Carolina" brand is UNC? Your university even did a survey to back that up.
I don't even like the Tarheels… they were quick to throw Clemson under the bus back in the day... but don't be so ignorant to believe that the "Carolina" brand is associated with South Carolina. I grew up in Charleston and somewhat rooted for the Gamecocks before I was converted to a Tiger. Even in the middle of South Carolina, "Carolina" is and has been UNC.

I think the Gamecock and block C is cool.
South Carolina and Arkansas have great helmets with their actual mascot on them.

As an ND guy, Holtz adopted a USC logo that was put on the field and on the football pants. It would later become the basketball team's primary logo for a number of years and it looked terrible.
