He was a passing game coordinator. Ensminger was the offensive coordinator.

And your argument is being in the air for 3.5 to 4 hours total is a quick trip that doesn't mean you'll be gone a full work day? 30 minute drive round trip to Hermans from Drake Field, so now you are at 4-4.5 hours.

How long is this interview and lunch lasting, 12 minutes?

Your argument is a couple of days.

Oh ok, just one full day. That also sounds ridiculous.

He also has to drive from his home/office in Buffalo to the airport, from the airport in Fayetteville to Hermans, from Hermans back to the airport, and then from the Buffalo airport back to his office. His travel time alone would be 6 or so hours. And if you're interviewing for a coaching job, that's not a quick lunch. Traveling across the country for an interview is an all day affair. No coach prepping for a playoff game in 4 days is doing that.

His immediate boss, the OC, is waiting to interview for an NFL head coaching job until this weekend after their game, too.

Yeah, I would have bought this story if he was meeting with Arkansas on Monday, not their biggest prep day of the week

Still don't see Brady wanting to go back to college ball. He might take an interview, but I'd bet he gets some interviews for NFL OC spots too. I thought it was pretty clear he wanted to be in the NFL when he left the money on the table LSU offered.

Is there another coach whose stock has risen and then fallen as quickly as Joe Brady's did?

Herman Frisco has a place in Fayetteville? Rohan is going to be pissed.

I'm guessing the boosters were HRV and ArHog.

He's being mentioned for more than a few NFL OC jobs. Has a solid gig right now in Buffalo, could possibly get the OC gig if Dorsey gets a HC job (unlikely).

He just had a terrible situation in Carolina. I don't really know how good or bad an offensive mind he is, but he at least seems to be pretty respected in the NFL.

I kind of wondered why he hitched his wagon to Carolina so quickly. He was signing on to be an OC under a first time NFL HC with only one year's experience in the NFL prior (2012 OL coach for the Giants) and on a bad team in the middle of a rebuild. Just seemed like the wrong time and place to make that jump with the guaranteed money on the table from LSU, which was in the same ballpark as what Carolina paid him with way more job security at LSU. He's now making considerably less with Buffalo.

It'd probably be pretty wild going from working under someone like Sean Payton to someone like Ed Orgeron.

He likely also recognized that his stock wouldn't improve any at LSU and wanted to leverage that into what could end up being a good opportunity.

Turns out both options sucked.

Nope. Each year that goes by, people that understand football realize that 2019 was the perfect mix of 2 extremely talented receivers, a decent RB that was a perfect fit for the LSU offense and a generational talent at QB. As physically talented as he was, LSU doesn't go 15-0 with JaMarcus Russell at QB in 2019. Joe Brady was just there to hitch his wagon to greatness.

Joe Brady made a copy of the Saints playbook and handed it to Ensminger.

idk, he was in charge of RZ play-calling too, and we went from abysmal scoring RZ TDs in 2018 to one of the best in the country in 2019.

2018:

60 RZ attempts
53 scores (88%)
31 TDs (51%) - 119th nationally

2019:

75 RZ attempts
72 scores (96%)
59 TDs (79%) - 4th nationally

He can clearly coach. Guys don't latch on then stick around in jobs with good organizations like the Bills if they have nothing to offer.

There was a plane that flew from Tuscaloosa to New Iberia this morning. Apparently Joe Brady was in T-Town to interview for the Bama OC job and then flew to New Iberia for a fresh New Iberia haircut.
