People bitched about the BCS, but it was right.

Playoff is fine. Keeps the same two the BCs would have had and gives an ‘04 auburn team a chance. We don’t need more teams.

It was a known, universal standard that rarely made bad matchups in championship games. The worst BCS year was still pretty damn good.

People bitched about the #3 and #4 teams not being in. Now that they are, people bitch about the #5 and #6 teams not being in. Go to an 8 team playoff and people will bitch about the #9 and #10 teams not being in. People should just realize their teams aren’t worthy.

I liked the bcs and wanted to keep it. Stupid people will keep clamouring to expand the playoffs. Money will eventually make it happen and, at some point, it will ruin college football.

Last year it would have been Clemson and Georgia.

How so exactly? Do larger playoffs ruin 1-AA? Do they ruin high school playoffs? How about NFL playoffs? Do all the teams in March Madness ruin it? Can you point to any sport of similar size to college football that employs a 4 team playoff? Or any sport that went from a four team playoff to a larger playoff and it was detrimental?

Of course not. College football isn't the only sport known to man that has it right, it's the only sport/league that has it wrong.

This year it still won’t be Ohio State.

Yes. It minimizes the regular season.

Those of us who understand what it is we love about college football, don't want it to become Mini NFL.

That's not really unique though. Most years it isn't Ohio state.

This. The BCS was fine other than the rare instance where there were 3 clear cut contenders.

There are usually only two legit title contenders, sometimes three, and almost never have there even been four.

4 teams is perfect IMO

04 auburn

As much as I dislike Auburn for obvious reasons, I would have liked to see how that team would’ve fared against USC. Pretty sure they would’ve skull fricked OU.

Your opinion isn’t objective. We cannot rely on that.

How much more minimal could you get than losing the last game of a regular season which prevented a division title and a shot at a conference title but still being given a chance to play in the playoffs? The regular season almost has no meaning currently...might as well fix the crappy, subjective playoff approach.

That is happenig already with he arguments on who is the "best" team regardless of on-field results. Well, this team didn't make their conference champtionships but belong anyway. or this team has 2 losses but they are better then this 1 loss team over there.

That is the stuff that minimizes the regular season. Make it 8 teams and you just get all these teams in and let them settle it on the field and be done with it. I'm sick of the "eye test" being the determination for playoffs.

Probably not. Maybe someday we'll get a real playoff, and get even further away from the pageantry of the BcS.

See? In another 20 years, I won't be watching college football, just like I don't watch the NFL. People can't help themselves.
