I partied with REK damn near every single night in college. Probably should have included one of his in the OP for Aggy.
eta:
"with" REK being figurative of course.

Have to disagree here. Georgia is absolutely loaded with musicians and music history but since you are a Gator, check out Tom Petty’s Gainesville.
The video has some really cool old footage of the town and Tom when he was very young.

I'm not quite sure what an aggy is, but I think this guy is pretty close.

I saw him last year with his old pal Lyle down in Visalia, CA with my former Aggy friend who introduced me to REK 25 years ago.

Yeah man the NMS hill country blues sound is still largely unknown. Check out these other Hill Country Blues artists.
Junior Kimbrough (start with “Meet me in the City”).
T-Model Ford
Kenny Brown (guitar player for RL but has some great solo stuff)
Otha Turner (very primitive Hill Country fife and drum)
Fred McDowell
Jessie Mae Hemphill
Robert Belfour
Mississippi Joe Callicott
Duwayne Burnside (RL son)
Cedric Burnside (RL grandson)
Gary Burnside (RL son he’s much younger than the grandsons but shite be happening you know)
Paul Wine Jones
And these folks have played with many of them or play that style and are truly bad A
Alvin Youngblood Hart
Cary Hudson (Blue Mountain)
Jimbo Mathus

What is it with you and this song? The intensity of the level of hate you have for it is admirable but misplaced, damn it. It's a good song.

Nice man. That does my heart well. We have a small North Mississippi Hill Country blues festival north of Oxford in June every year (over 10 years running) that features many of these acts (that are still around.) Camping, parking, security and RV with power is available. Food vendors, craft merch on site and even medical. I think you would truly enjoy it. Google it and check it out and come get your world boogie on with us.
