They literally took football time to give us more commercials. The entire LSU/Arkansas first half was nearly done in one hour of real time with the majority of time being commercials.

I pray they rethink this but I know they won’t.

All the big television companies forcing the broadcasters to say nice things about the new rules is hilarious too. They were talking about it during a game week two and it sounded like an ESPN Exec had a gun to the announcer’s head when he was complimenting it

If they were wise, they’d stop talking about it all together. By constantly bringing it up though and trying to justify it, the excuses continue to get more absurd. Especially because fans can see the reality.

It’s just my opinion but they need to run constant frame/banner ads and then do PIP during routine plays like XP’s and Kick-off’s where the commercial is the large image.

Go back to old clock rules but have constant advertising around it. Hell, we got accustomed to the stats banner. Also, sponsor every animation/graphic. Put ads everywhere but let the game flow better.

Well, they can do what they did for Alabama Saturday. Three times they didn't start the play clock while Saban ran in players and the QB changed the play.

Agree. Terrible decision. More commercials equals less football but the same or more time overall.
But if they are going to keep it, then make the last 5 minutes of the fourth quarter under the old rules.

Each commercial went from 1:30 or 2:53 each to 3:10 or 3:15 each depending on what the red hat was told. Plus a lot more commercials. Making me not want to go to the games anymore. 4th quarter last night was brutal when we had a 3:10 commercial break, a kickoff, and then right back to a 3:15 commercial break

If they aren't stopping the clock on first downs where are the extra commercials coming from?

They gift wrapped it as a player safety issue. Instead it’s an advertising turd bucket.

We live in a world of advertisements. It won’t be long before we have to buy season passes like NFL games. Network subscriptions won’t be enough.

I had four games up at the same time last night. Its the only way to find a single game thats not in commercial and sometimes its all four at the same time.

Not enjoying the new rule TBQH

This meme is for government, but applies equally to large corporations.

I would like to repeat a question posed today by one of the cfb youtubers I subscribe to. I was thinking the same thing and thought I was alone, until he said it.

It seems like the first half of games is flying by. But the second half drags out. But the clock rules for first and second half are the same. What's the deal with that?

Maybe it's me as a Georgia fan, not too much scoring in the first half, but lots in the second, and more commercial breaks when there's more scoring?

Scores now have 3 tv breaks: after the TD, after the PAR, after the kickoff. (Maybe not but sounds good). But one thing is for sure, there isn’t a commercial break shorter than 3 minutes now.

It also doesn’t help that it’s the same 5 commercials and they all suck.
