Doesn't GT have a more recent national title?

2-2 in the last 4

Tech has given UGA a run every time UGA gets a new defensive coordinator. The only time UGA didn't lose to the triple option with a new defensive coordinator was Todd Grantham, and his defense gave up about 500 yards rushing.

Every year that UGA returns our DC, we stomp em pretty good. Here's hoping that Mel Tucker sticks around a long time.

It is kind of like Auburn and Bama. The media tries to play it up but at the end of the day it isn't much of a rivalry.

Not according to the media. The Associated Press doesn't recognize any titles by GT.

I don't see what the big deal is with Kirby, so far.

Dabo Swinney, 2nd full year at Clemson: 6-7, lost to South Florida in bowl game

Kirby Smart, 2nd full year at UGA: 13-2, Rose Bowl win, took the NCG to OT.

So far? Smart is making Swinney look like a bitch.

that is because UGA played an easy schedule this year. I had predicted they would make playoffs this year because of the easy schedule and it was easier than I had thought.

But G Tech has had more success than Duke and those other schools using the triple option so you point works against you.

More success than Notre Dame and Stanford?

Please check yourself.

What a joke.

UGA played 2 P5 opponents on the road in 2017.
When is the last time that Clemson went into an opponents stadium to play 2 P5 OOC opponents in the same year?

Georgia's schedule is a consensus top 5 toughest in the country.

Well, so far this year, he coached Georgia to the National Championship game and the #1 recruiting class in the nation. Pretty sure Dabo did neither of those.

Dabo got his first National Championship with Clemson in his 9th year at Clemson. And he has never had the #1 recruiting class, so Kirby has done one thing Dabo has never done, and he went to the National Championship game faster than Dabo did.

Seems plausible he could also get a national Championship faster than Dabo did, too. So, it doesn't really surprise me that you are not impressed, because nobody here is impressed with Clemson or Dabo.

ok i don't think recruiting class rankings mean much. Renfrow was a walk on.

Pretty sure FSU always has higher ranked class but Clemson won 3 in a row against them and is 9-6 againt them in the last 15 games.

Nothing says "national championship" like winning the Citrus Bowl, right?

Georgia's schedule was much harder than Clemson's 2010 ACC schedule, aka the ACC era of FSU, sometimes VT, and no-fricking-body else worth keeping track of

My Uga friends calling us the War Seagull's was more creative and that is a low bar.

On a secondary note, later that day:

As long as you want to talk about rivals....Alabama has 5 National Titles since LSU's last one. And LSU did that one with Alabama's coaches players.
