They are a #1 lock. Don't get me wrong, these players want to win. No one plays to lose. However, combine the "lock" with the crappy weather (not knowing when the game will officially start, etc), and it's tough to be focused and excited. There is nothing I can pull from this team or the coach's history to make me believe they won't be ready when the Regionals come around.

LSU worried about Florida’s team now that they finally locked in an invite to post season lol.

UF did look awful and it was more a case of beating themselves than being overwhelmed by LSU.

From my perspective on the family room sofa watching it unfold there were two things that made UF play horrible.

First, I saw no real energy from the Gators, none, zip, nada. They appeared dead tired from the getgo. At least that's fixable with some rest.

It was error city all night, third base, second base, short stop and especially catcher, had a nightmare game. My best guess that this will sting like hell and the Gators come back with a vengeance. There is way way too much talent to not have their pride hurt.

Congrats LSU, played smarter and let UF self destruct with almost no help. UF would have lost to UF in a game like this, -8 to -7,

UF is the defending NCs so it would be nice to win. But I expect UF to regroup, sweep their regional and super, and be in Omaha.

Wished they'd played like this 11 months ago!

This isn’t about LSU. It’s about Florida. Several of Skip’s championship teams tanked in the SEC tourney.

Agreed. Not everybody treats a conference tournament like Mainieri does. Different philosophies.

But leave it to our large idiot portion of the fan base to either not understand common sense or understand it and yet still troll another fan base over something so stupid.

Makes no sense why anyone takes anything from this tournament, it’s cool to win but its just a tune up for the post season.

Agreed. Florida has had nothing to play for since it had a national seed locked up at least two weeks ago. Even being the No. 1 national seed isn't much motivation because the overall No. 1 almost never wins the national championship. The Gators will be fine.

Now LSU needed at least a win to secure an NCAA bid, which it has done. At this point, this is just getting swings and pitching work in for everyone left at the SEC tournament.

JJ Schwarz being out hurts.

What is his recovery time table?

Will be interesting to see if they can turn it back in the postseason. We had pretty much everything locked up early on, but not crazy about finishing the year on this kind of slide.

It has to be at least a little bit of cause for concern? I get that a 1-2 National seed was locked up before the moo state series but at some point you need to show up. That said, there’s a reason y’all are ranked so high, im sure they’ll turn it on next week.

I agree. True, the SECT doesn't mean anything, but it sure as shite gives you an idea of your teams play heading into post season.

Losing a few close games is one thing. Having this kind of sloppy play is another.

Arkansas beat UF 16-0 in the SEC tournament last year, and UF won the whole thing.

Well, their best starting pitcher and their All-American and likely first round draft pick catcher are hurt and haven't been playing the last two weekends.

That might have something to do with it....

Schwartz actually played about 1.5 games last weekend. He wasn't out the entire series.

teams have routinely played themselves into and out of the the ncaa tournament and national seeds in the conference tourney

When half the teams in your tournament are nationally ranked it’s hard not to take anything from the tournament

It may not change the lot for all teams but to act like this tournament hasn’t played a major role in the post season throughout its history is just being disingenuous
