Gem from ColoradoAg:

quote:

And he told the sips to pound sand when they hired Pierce so fine with me! At least he’s a good man

And from truth22

quote:

And it doesn't hurt that Texas tried to hire him when he turned them down and they hired Pierce.

This would be a net positive for us, and with more than a little irony.

I guess that makes two of us!

I'm going to be pissed if we DID have the chance to hire Heef and passed it up. But I don't know if he has any interest in the Ag job.

2nd choice- either Bama's coach or Kentucky's, but I really hate hiring within conference.

FIFY. These people wanting Heefner are going to be disappointed.

A guy with church school player rules ain't gonna work at a large public university which sells beer at the games and where fans sometimes may mutter an obscenity.

And the Texas A&M fans are tame compared to some of the venues.

How do you feel about teams that are about to join the conference?

One of the guys reporting he was a target says he's turned it down.

I could see where that would be an issue. He would be a great hire though. I said it on one of the other postings yesterday…I can’t imagine what Heefner could do with the assets of a major program. DBU isn’t a pushover for anybody, and he has built it primarily off of other schools scraps, and the few who attend DBU for religious purposes.

Aggy brilliant AD has hired Jimbo Fischer to coach the baseball team. This is a win win since they were paying him anyway…..

Aggies. “Based on what I’m hearing, I think I’d be really surprised if they don’t have a new head coach by Saturday,” Rogers told TexAgs.
